Unboxing Tummy Trouble!
It's day 360 of documenting 2025.
5 days to 2026!
Would you believe that I didn't know today was a Friday? 😄
That's how clueless I was today.
Until evening time, when my aunt was like,
"Tomorrow is Saturday, we will cook both soup and stew".
That's when I was like,
"Today's Friday?"
My day wasn't so bad tho....but it started with a runny stomach.
I visited the restroom four times!
It wasn't a funny experience at all...because at some point, I vomited the at the exact same time I was stooling.
I thought I had cholera 😖
Turns out, it was severe indigestion...due to how I've been overeating lately.
It's all my fault, I know...
If only I would eat a little less 😒
But I definitely learned my lesson, as I didn't eat as much today.
I didn't want to upset my belly any further...
For the rest of the day, I didn't visit the restroom and I did more of chores.
Washed clothes, cooked and took my bath later in the evening.
Then I went for a stroll with my cousin's friend...one of my homies.
We actually went out to buy some things. She got provisions and I got snacks.
Snacks?
With my tummy trouble?
I didn't care...wasn't feeling any discomfort anyway. I felt like I deserved a treat 😌
Why?
Because earlier today, I finished all the activities on my checklist.
I was able to fully charge my phone last night and I made a resolution, because it's boxing day.
(Don't know how those two correlate tho!)
I decided to finish all my offline tasks which included working on the group presentation...as group leader. Also, I had to type the blog posts of yesterday and the day before....as well as start on the Psy 109 assignment.
All before turning on my data...because if my data was on, I wouldn't concentrate on them due to WhatsApp.
Formatting the presentation document took hours, mainly because I had to watch a video to understand the topic and jot down points as well.
But I got it done, as well as the others...by afternoon time.
Then I got on WhatsApp and the usual routine of messaging started.
Mission accomplished! 😁
Alright...let's digress to today's highlights and then I'll give my concluding thoughts.
By the way, the book we're highlighting is a 365-day book written by Martin Meadows.
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Self-Myofascial Release
"Self-myofascial release is a fancy term for self-massage to release muscle
tightness or trigger points. This method can be performed with a foam roller,
lacrosse ball, Theracane, or your own hands.
By applying pressure to specific points on your body you are able to aid in the recovery of muscles and assist in
returning them to normal function.
Normal function means your muscles are
elastic, healthy, and ready to perform at a moment’s notice."
Quote by Jeff Kuhland
As the quote explains, self-myofascial release is a term for self-massage.
You focus on trigger points in your body to release tension and bring back the
previous elasticity of your muscles.
What does it have to do with self-discipline? Here are three ways that it
applies:
First, it’s difficult to be on top of your game if your body is constantly
tense.
I find it hard to focus on work if I suffer from back pain.
When I spend a
few minutes massaging the tightest spots, the mental tension goes away along with the physical tension.
Second, one common reason why people skip workouts or avoid putting
themselves in uncomfortable situations is because they’re in pain.
A lot of that
pain comes from your body being tight like a bowstring.
Several weeks spent
addressing your most painful trigger points can work miracles when it comes to eliminating chronic pain.
Finally, self-myofascial release (such as using a foam roller) isn’t a particularly comfortable thing to do. In fact, it can be immensely painful. And
that’s precisely why self-massage can be a valuable exercise for your self-discipline.
Just like in any other exercise, you suffer some temporary pain or discomfort but eventually get a bigger reward.
With self-massage, you
experience the temporary pain of applying pressure to your trigger points, but then benefit from increased mobility and free yourself from the chronic pain of
tight muscles.
Buying an inexpensive lacrosse ball or a foam roller can be one of your best
investments.
Greatly reduced (or even eliminated) pain, increased mobility, and improved self-discipline are more than worth the twenty or thirty bucks spent on a self-massage tool.
I actually haven't tried this self-myofascial technique before....because I'm not very conversant with tense muscles and massage techniques.
I just go about my day and rest when I'm tired 🥱
But I'm actually going to look into it.
Maybe...just maybe those times I'm feeling tired is actually a result of tense muscles.
I'll try it out....because this coming year, I want to take discipline very seriously.
Smell that? 😇
That's a resolution scenting!
So far, this year has been good, but one thing I struggled with is self-control.
I definitely suffered the consequences of not being disciplined in some cases, but I'll do better this time around.
I don't have to wait for 2026 to start 😌
I think that would be all for today's documentation.
It's not as long, because my day wasn't as adventurous, but some days are like that.
The last days of 2026 are no different.
Thanks for reading 🎀
You can always catch up on former posts by visiting the main website, Documenting 2025.
I can say that this blog is my best kept secret, except to a few people.
It's an open diary...a window into my personality and way of thinking.
It will always be here....long after 2025 is gone.
See you in the next post 💜
