A Very Close Shave

It's day 169 of documenting 2025. Yesterday was tough. Real tough. I almost broke my writing streak. But I had to learn a very important lesson. Not so much into detail....but my phone was taken away from me. For the whole day. I couldn't come online...and I definitely have work piling up fore to finish up. Yep! I went to school...came back and wasn't given the phone until after a difficult conversation. Lesson learned:  Character will always take you places and lack of it will downplay any blessings you might get.... Make them less valuable. It wasn't so bad tho.... I was able to do some crochet and teach 2 enthusiastic students a particular crochet technique. Besides, a fellow teacher was ready to acquire the beanie we were creating...when it was done. In addition, I was able to engage in conversation to a few more students about choice of school, university, courses...and all that. Brief Life, Precious Mind...

It's day 167 of documenting 2025. It's back to normal, my friend 🙂 For teachers and students, I mean. And I'm at work today. But I learned some things over the past week that I want to share with you. First thing is, you can't always do it alone. I admitted to my mentor yesterday that I'm independent to a fault. I find it hard to reach out for help or clarification on something. It usually takes an initial circumstance to push me....most times a realization that things will get worse if I don't. I'm learning to speak out. To reach out and ask for assistance when I need it. And I know that there are certain things you have to do by yourself...but if there's no one to guide you on what to do, how will you even know if you're doing it right? Ponder that. It's day 166 of documenting 2025. Happy Weekend my friend ☺️  I hope your week went well... Mine was....revealing. I finally figured out why I usually scrolled mindlessly or sometimes default to watching videos when there's work to be done. Escapism. It's day 165 of documenting 2025. Why do we escape? 🤔 A question I recently asked. AI helped with the answers and I'll share the full chat in this post. But before that, I want to make a shout out to a special person. I was going through a difficult time yesterday and it got to the point where I broke down in tears 😭 But this special person was there to cheer me up. I felt better after talking with him and we talked for almost an hour. (Don't get any funny ideas...we're not dating!) He reminded me that I'm not alone and that I can get through anything. It's day 164 of documenting 2025. Happy Friday, my friend ☺️ Although I'm not so excited that the break is coming to an end, someone to be thankful for is the fact that I'm alive. And so are you! Lemme start with how yesterday went. Hmm... So, funny story 😅 My dad had planned for me to stay with my younger siblings while they did their national ID registration. We prepared and got to the place. It was closed for the day. What's funny is that he called someone living in that area before we left the house to help him check if the place was open. She didn't check it herself, she sent her child, who said it was. This is according to what my dad told me. He was completely pissed 😡 As we waited close to the locked doors, he called the person again. She didn't pick it. Seems she was busy... On the way home, he made it clear that he had wasted money on transport. In addition to that, we had misplaced the registration forms he acquired months ago. H...

Are You Drifting Through Life?

It's day 162 of documenting 2025. Wednesday... Already giving out mid-week vibes. I'm still chilling tho 😉  #midtermbreak So yesterday, I read Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. Some of what I read were unclear...and I had to read again. I'll share one of them...one that really resonated with me. Before the sections for today, I just want to say a thing or two on direction. Ahem! (clearing my throat, pretending I'm about to give a speech...) Once, I asked two guys a question as part of a random Q and A session. I was still going to the tutorial center then... So, I asked, "where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?" Guess what? They gave the exact same response. "Let me think about it...I will get back to you". Seriously! I'm really flunking in some areas of my life but I'm learning as well. And one thing I usually do, is to try not to make the same mistakes as the previous day. Speaking of the previous day... PK, my close friend called. I hadn't messaged him for 5 days due to my workload and the need to finish up pending work. Twas worth it tho... It was like chatted two days ago 😄 Brings to mind a particular expression. I was watching an actor from Nigeria in one of his TikTok videos, when he said it. How does it go again?
