Procession Day
It's day 345 of documenting 2025.
20 days to 2026!
Thursday?
Weekend vibes 😎
And it was more of an outing day.
Why?
We had a procession...that is, the traditional council of our university.
Man! We really take tradition seriously!
But before the outing, there was class drama.
Our lecturer didn't show up.
I called him in the morning and he said he was going to come.
And since it was our only lecture for the day, I couldn't order my coursemates to stay home.
The worst case scenario would be when he would come to class and meet nobody.
Who would shoulder the blame?
Me, of course!
At the end of the day, he didn't show up. My coursemates were so annoyed because some of them came from far places and apparently wasted transport fare.
Well, the lecturer apologized for the inconvenience....to me, and I relayed it to the class.
They wouldn't hear it.
Most of them flared up and told me to ask the professor to send money to refund their transport fares.
Some even said that they wouldn't come for next week's class.
I was from one place to another, running errands on behalf of the the class.
By errands, I mean getting a particular handout for those that entrusted me to get it for them.
By the time I was done, it was almost time for the procession....AKA parade.
I got to the meeting spot and 30 minutes later, the parade started.
We walked...or rather walk-danced for hours and many miles.
I took pictures and made videos.
The parade lasted all evening and stretched into night.
To my surprise, the ladies were asked to wait behind and cook for the next day's event, which is the main festival called Ofala.
I didn't expect to stay that long, and
I couldn't wait, because my hostel closes the entrance gate by 10pm.
One of the queens told me that the last time we had the procession, she left the cooking arena around 12am or so. That's midnight!
I couldn't wait.
It was a nice experience tho...
One I thank God for 😌
Let's get straight into highlights
This post is long overdue....so it might not be as long as the previous ones.
But let's see how it goes.
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Injecting Adventure in Your Routines
"Writing interests me more than anything else. If I made a chore of it, my
enthusiasm would die. I make it an adventure every day. I get more
entertainment from it than any I could buy."
Quote by Willa Cather
A daily routine sounds boring, but it doesn’t need to be. If you inject some
fun and adventure in it, you’ll find it will be easier and more pleasant to stick to
it.
For example, if you’re on a diet, there’s no rule stating that you can’t cook
exotic healthy meals or try foods you’ve never tasted before.
Starting a diet can
be a good opportunity to introduce more variety in your nutritional habits.
If you want to become more financially disciplined, turn it into a game.
Set
a challenge to save as much money as you can. Find better deals for the items
you need to buy regularly. Come up with ways to make some money on the side.
If you want to become more productive, challenge yourself to get as much
work done as possible in a short period of time. Experiment by working in
different places. Try new ways of getting things done.
If your resolutions don’t feel like chores, but more like opportunities to
have some small adventures and entertain yourself, you’ll be more likely to stick
to them than if you looked at them as boring obligations.
I'm always up for the adventure part! 😁
Anything that introduces novelty and makes an ordinary task exciting.
But with the way my activities go, it seems there's no way to spice things up.
I'll try brainstorming with AI.
In other news....we vacate by next week. I'm so happy!
All of the overwhelm and busyness will cease, for just two weeks.
And then, it all starts again.
I'll definitely make the most of the break.
I think that would be all for today's documentation.
Thanks for reading 🎀
These days, I get so busy to even type each post.
So I think the posts from this one till next week will be short ones.
Just the updates and highlights and then the conclusions.
As the Spirit leads 😌
But you can always catch up on former posts, by visiting the main website, Documenting 2025.
I've documented every single day of this year, since January....and by December 31st, I will have the achievement of writing for 365 days in a row!
See you in the next post 💜
