Another Day's Meeting

It's day 310 of documenting 2025.
55 days to 2026!

Now, I can definitely say...
Mid-week vibes on! 😎
You know what?
It's already the end of the day...so, no more chance to experience the mid-week.
But my day went well tho....

So, I initially had the plan to do my laundry today...but then an impromptu call from our course rep made me change plans.
He called for a meeting in the morning...and as assistant course rep, I had to show up.

The meeting was a success, as we were able to design a rough draft of our timetable.
All that's left is for us to fix a date with the last lecturer, who I will contact tomorrow morning.
Then we're set for classes! 🔥

After the meeting and a long trek with my coursemates, I headed to the hostel and did a few chores before crocheting myself to sleep.
Twas just a short nap tho...as I was woken up by a call and then one of my roommates who came in.

There were little chats here and there...then I went downstairs to charge my phone, and I've been there till now.
Why? Because the charger is slow!
Anyways....

Let's see today's highlights now....
And I'll share a few more thoughts afterwards 😌
Then we end the post, as usual.

📌 On Having Good Private Teachers

"From my great-grandfather, [I learned] not to have frequented public schools, and to have had good teachers at home, and to know that on such things a man should spend liberally."
Quote by Marcus Aurelius

Here’s one of the ultimate shortcuts for success: if you want to learn something or achieve a goal more quickly, find a good private teacher to guide you.

Spend your money eagerly on one-on-one instruction, because expanding your knowledge and experience (unlike many other investments) is a sure-fire
way to get a positive return.

Group classes are extremely ineffective teaching tools because the teacher’s
attention is spread over too many students.

If you have an hour-long class with a
teacher and there are 9 other students, on average you only get 10 minutes of the
teacher’s attention.
Even if the teacher’s fee for a private class is five times higher, it’s still cheaper than a group class, considering how much more you’ll learn.

Consider hiring a coach for any important endeavors or to kickstart a new change.
For example, you can hire a nutrition expert to develop a meal plan for you or a fitness coach to design a workout plan for you.

You don’t necessarily have to keep paying them forever; the initial help can be sufficient to get you started and then all you have to do is continue to practice what you learned from them, until your needs change.

One additional benefit of hiring a private coach is that once you start paying to get professional help, you’ll start taking your objectives more seriously.

It’s easier to back out if there’s nobody to whom you need to give an explanation as
to why you want to give up.

Today's takeaway is this:
If you can, pay for one-on-one mentorship.
It can help you accelerate your initial growth and progress in any given area.
That's what I think, by the way...

Any other thoughts I would like to share? Hmm 🤔
Oh yeah....it's the fact that I'm getting the idea that building a good relationship with lecturers is going to be beneficial.

So, we had to call the lecturers on phone today, in order to fix the dates for the lectures next week.
It was a team effort, between me and the course rep...and two other coursemates.

It was scary at first, but with time...it got easier.
When we were calling them, a guy walked in and asked if we were year one students.
We replied yes...and then he introduced himself as a final year student.

He stayed with us for a few minutes and then talked about how interesting the course is.
He also mentioned that we would eventually do experiments in a laboratory...with lab coats and all.
Then he said that it's not favourable to be on the bad side of a lecturer.
That's what got to me.

Well, as assistant course rep....I would be engaging with them from time to time.
Let's see how it goes 😌

Final thought...
I don't have any school bestie yet.
Which is not a bother, because I didn't come for besties, or parties, general pleasure. I don't even need one!
I'm relating well with my roommates and everyone else, but no close friendships yet.

My close friendship is with God, who has been helping me from day 1...especially by giving me directions that make everything turn out well.

Walking with God is the sweetest experience ever, and I want it to never end.
That's just me, I don't know about you, but I hope it's the same for you as well.
