Service and Scripture

It's day 291 of documenting 2025.
74 days to 2026!

Phew! What a Saturday!
It's not even 2pm yet and I'm already as busy as a bee.
Maybe even busier! 😄

Why?
Well, it's because God is already answering my prayers.
As a result, I get busy in service to others.
Working like I'm working for God and not man.

It literally feels like I'm escaping the online space so I can type this post.
I know that God made it that way...because I know that if I don't do it now, it will probably be till night time, when I settle down.
And then, I'm usually very tired.

Okay, so what's the gist?
Hmm 🤔
Let's see....

It's probably my last Saturday with my siblings...and this time around, it doesn't feel rushed.
It doesn't feel like there were more things I could have done.
It just feels right.

I'm already doing this and that....
Getting documents, posting online, building connections....quite a number of things. Like I used to do before.
But this time, something is different.
I feel at peace 😌

No overwhelm, no guilt.
Just clarity and the certainty follows walking with God.
That certainty that no matter what, He has my back.

I now realize something...
It's not that we won't stumble or fall when we walk with God.
It's the fact that He's there to catch us and put us back on our feet.
That's just it!

Let's see today's highlights and then I'll be adding a few more thoughts to round up this post.
No late night typing this time 😏

By the way, someone on X asked me what my longest streak was.
I told him that it's this blog.
Because it's something I've never done before...
Sticking to one thing for 365 days!
Well, very soon it will be one of my achievements by God's grace.

365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On the How Instead of the Outcome

"Many people don’t understand that how you climb a mountain is more
important than reaching the top. (…)
The goal of climbing big, dangerous mountains should be to attain some sort of spiritual and personal growth, but this won’t happen if you compromise away the entire process."
Quote by Yvon Chouinard

All goals require you to go through a process to attain them.

If you compromise away the process by cutting corners, you’re missing out on what goal achievement is really about: personal growth, through making the journey.

When all is said and done, you aren’t going to talk for hours about how you stood on top of the mountain, but about the ordeal you had to go through to reach the top.

You won’t grow because you got to the peak — it’s everything that happens prior to reaching it that results in growth, not the mere act of putting your foot one more step forward and achieving the summit.

Whether you take that last step or not, it won’t erase all that you’ve had to go through to get that far.

In the quote, Yvon Chouinard refers to the wealthy individuals with no climbing experience and skills — or any desire to develop them — who pay huge sums of money to reach the top of Mount Everest (with the help of the Sherpas who carry the equipment needed to make the ascent as easy as possible).

Those rich men and women aren’t after the personal growth — they’re after the bragging rights of getting to the top of the tallest mountain the world at all costs.

They reach the top, but they deprive themselves of the lessons the difficult process would offer them.
When chasing after your goals, don’t be like those wannabe climbers.

By all means, do whatever you can to achieve your dreams as quickly as possible, but don’t cut corners, compromise your moral principles, cheat, or hurt anyone, just so you can brag that you accomplished your objective.

This is a lesson that most people often overlook.
The fact that there's always a process to follow. I would like to put it this way:

"It's not what you have achieved that matters, it's who you became in the process."
#Duonquotes 😄

That's my thought on the topic, anyway....
Anything else to share?

Well, I already announced that I would be hosting another X space on Monday.
I wanted it to be on Sunday, but it seems Dad is going to organize a small prayer event. I'll probably be occupied.

Still don't know what I would be talking about, haven't decided yet.
But I called for those that would be speaking, so we can decide on an interesting topic.
Let's see how it goes!

Oh! Before I forget....
I already started memorizing Scripture again.
I started a week ago and it's a different kind of memorization.

This time, it's not just random verses, it's in 3 categories.
A prayer, a promise and a principle.
Today's verse is a prayer. tomorrow's will be a promise and the next, a principle.
And they're all one sentence.

I think God put it in my mind to do it that way, so whenever I study my Bible, I identify verses that fit into these categories and write them down.
By doing so, I will know what to memorize for that day. It's exciting! 😄

I realize that I need more of God's Word, not just when I study.
More like a nugget to carry with me throughout the day.
Something I can repeat and remember.
Well, that's the whole point, right?

I think that would be all for today's post.
It's just past 1pm now, and I'll probably publish this a little later than that.
Thanks for reading 🎀
