Nigeria Is 65!
It's day 274 of documenting 2025.
91 days to 2026!
It's an off day for everyone in Nigeria today.
Why? ๐คจ
Because 65 years ago today, we as a nation gained our Independence from our colonial masters.
October 1st, a public holiday.
I was at home all morning.
Lounging, writing, connecting...
And I don't want to write this post in the evening, when I would probably be tired...
Here we are...again! ๐
So, what can I share behind the scenes?
Hmm...let me give a bit of thought to that.
In the meantime, let's see what we have for today's highlights.
365 Days With Self-discipline
๐ On Constant Movement
"Well, I always know what I want. And when you know what you want — you go toward it. Sometimes you go very fast, and sometimes only an inch a year.
Perhaps you feel happier when you go fast. I don’t know. I’ve forgotten the difference long ago, because it really doesn’t matter, so long as you move."
Quote by Ayn Rand
Constant movement is the key to a successful life because humans are programmed to always be on the mission to improve their lives.
The journey in itself can give life meaning, and obsessing about not being able to shorten it can only bring unnecessary frustration.
In addition to that, certain goals require years (or sometimes even decades) to achieve, and there’s little, if anything, you can do to turn them into reality sooner.
Complaining only breeds negativity, which does nothing to help you attain your goals.
You might think that it doesn’t make sense to work on a goal if your progress is slow and you consequently feel tempted to give up.
But what’s the alternative?
If you give up, you’re guaranteed to not meet your objectives.
What sense does it make to give up, frustrated by the slow progress, and then resort to wishing you could somehow magically turn your dream into reality?
Here's my take:
Slow progress shouldn't be a criteria for the decision to give up on your dreams.
It may be delayed, but it can never be denied (something my mom used to say).
I've probably said it before but I'll say it again.
I was tempted to give up writing this blog...but I thank God that I didn't give into it. I'm still here...still writing and still improving.
It's going to stay that way till day 365 ๐
Well, what I want to share is the fact that I may not resume any lectures until next year.
The admission process is going at a snail's pace....and according to what my cousin said, it's going to be till November before I travel.
My cousin is actually a student of the school, as she gained admission last year.
At least, the process won't be different from what she described.
This month, I'll still be in Lagos.
At first, I was thinking my relocation was going to be sooner.
That's why I didn't consider going back to the teaching job.
Since I resumed, I've been telling people who ask that I won't be there for long.
And it's true...but until then, I'll make the most of my time there.
Another thing I want to share is the fact that I have 2 full ideas for businesses that I can set up.
One relates to crochet the other relates to blogging.
For now, they're just ideas...and I know that I have to fully go into one idea at a time.
There's also the project God gave to me...and I'm working on that as well.
But I feel like apart from the preparations, I'm not to fully launch it yet.
It's like I'm not yet in the right place for the project to be a success.
I'm going to trust God with this...and I won't go off into anything on my own.
Not anymore.
God clearly told me in Isaiah 52:12,
"For ye shall not go with haste, nor go by flight; for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel shall be your rereward"
Translating to what I understand, it means:
God will go before me and he will be behind me, when I walk in His pace ๐
Let's end on a hopeful note, shall we?
It's a new month...a new quarter.
I hope this ending months will be the best months of this year, for us all.
God bless Nigeria ๐ณ๐ฌ
And God bless you, my friend.
That's all for today's post.
Thanks for reading ๐
And as usual, you can find the former posts and highlights on the main website, Documenting 2025.
See you in the next post ๐
