Network Drama
It's day 287 of documenting 2025.
78 days to 2026!
Today started off well...with the hope for an accomplished day.
I wrote down a to-do list and then started out with the tasks.
But my phone started acting up.
The rain also fell today...and I think it affected the network.
Because even ChatGPT wasn't working.
I wanted to use it for some exam questions I was working on (ex-teacher business 😏)....
It was super annoying.
The main task I wanted to do today....took hours.
For the media to upload was a nightmare because my phone would just blank out.
This device is probably on its last years of functionality.
I tried and tried.
Same thing....till afternoon.
I dozed off, woke up and tried again.
Still nothing.
The network wouldn't just agree.
I also went out to run an errand for my dad and came back.
Tried again. Still didn't work.
Evening came, and it was time for the home-tutoring session.
I just left the task.
After the session, I came home and it wasn't until 7pm today that the network yielded for me to complete the task.
I think it's because I actually asked God to help out.
I was starting to get frustrated.
But I was happy when it was finally done and over with.
Good thing I did the most important task for today...a quiet time with God.
The day didn't go as expected...and I learned a few lessons.
I almost forgot to talk about what happened earlier this morning, before the whole network drama 🙄
An old woman prayed for me.
She's a neighbor and she asked me why I didn't go to work.
It was actually her and another neighbor talking before they saw me.
I told them that I would soon be traveling for school.
Then the woman started praying for me in the Yoruba language, which I understood.
She pronounced blessings upon me and then got up, looked me in the eye and advised me.
She told me to treat my relatives over there like I would my own parent.
Then she continued to pray for me...even saying that my mum would be happy where she is to see what I would become.
Man! It seemed ordinary at first...but after I got to my house, I started thinking about it and realized it was more than ordinary.
"The prayer of an old woman".
That was what I said.
I would just say,
"Let God's will be done in my life".
That's my prayer everyday.
Alright, enough gist...
Let's see today's highlights.
And I will also share an excerpt from Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.
This particular one caught my attention, as I was glancing through the book.

📌 On Reducing Procrastination That Comes From Overwhelm
"The bigger and more overwhelming the project seems to you, the greater your tendency to procrastinate."
Quote by Neil Fiore
A common reason why people procrastinate about something that they consider extremely important to them is exactly that — they consider it so crucial that it overwhelms them and paralyzes their actions.
When you think of something as your only big chance in life, you’ll understandably try to tread as carefully as possible.
This, however, can quickly convert into procrastination when your fear of ruining the opportunity will prevent you from taking action.
If you currently find yourself in such a situation, ask yourself what is the end result of putting off this big, once-in-a-lifetime chance in life.
Isn’t procrastinating about it going to lead to the exact same thing you’re afraid of —losing the opportunity?
Whenever setting new resolutions, manage your attitude about them so that you aren’t overwhelmed by them.
Think of it as having an opportunity to meet a famous person.
You can hold them in high regard, but it doesn’t mean that you have to act like a crazy fan around them.
In fact, that’s what will put them off, while a person who treats them as another human being will be a welcome difference.
It’s the same with your goals.
Yes, they might be so important that they will change your life. However, this will only happen if you keep a cool head about
them.
Otherwise you can let them overwhelm you to such an extent that you’ll altogether fail to act.
I don't think there's anything I can add to this...really.
It's as complete as a well written book 📖
And on to the next one....
📌 Meditations
Book 6
16. What is it in ourselves that we should prize?
Not just transpiration (even plants do that).
Or respiration (even beasts and wild animals breathe).
Or being struck by passing thoughts.
Or jerked like a puppet by your own impulses.
Or moving in herds.
Or eating, and relieving yourself afterwards.
Then what is to be prized?
An audience clapping? No.
No more than the clacking of their tongues.
Which is all that public praise amounts to—a clacking of tongues.
So we throw out other people’s recognition.
What’s left for us to prize?
I think it’s this: to do (and not do) what we were designed for.
That’s the goal of all trades, all arts, and what each of them aims at: that the thing they create should do what it was designed to do.
The nurseryman who cares for
the vines, the horse trainer, the dog breeder—this is what they aim at. And teaching and education—what else are they trying to accomplish?
So that’s what we should prize.
Hold on to that, and you won’t be tempted to aim at anything else.
And if you can’t stop prizing a lot of other things?
Then you’ll never be free—free, independent, imperturbable.
Because you’ll always be envious and jealous, afraid that people might come and take it all away from you.
Plotting against those who have them—those things you prize. People who need those things are bound to be a mess—and bound to take out their frustrations on the gods.
Whereas to respect your own mind—to prize it—will leave you satisfied with your own self, well integrated into your community and in tune with the gods as well—embracing what they allot you, and what they ordain.
I don't need AI to help me interpret this one.
All Marcus was trying to say in this long text is this:
Value what is within you more than what is outside.
Accept what life gives you and do what you were meant to do.
If you don't know what that is yet, you have to discover it 😌
It's like what Scripture says,
"Set your affection on things above and not on things on the earth".
That's it! 💯
Okay, this is I draw the curtains for today's post.
Thanks for reading 🎀
