It's Getting Real!!

It's day 278 of documenting 2025.
87 days to 2026!

It's another Sunday.
Apparently, it's my last Sunday in Lagos.
I'm trying my absolute best not to overthink about the days ahead. So, I just think on God's Word and find comfort.

And the rain came down 🌧️
As opposed to a sunny day, it was a downpour. All morning!!
In the afternoon, I was just overcome with the need to sleep.
Took a nap and as usual, it lasted 3 hours instead of 1.
It was all good tho...as I'll probably need all the rest I can get before the rigors of this week.

Alright, let's see today's highlights and I'll share more thoughts.
No hiding this time....because no one's reading anyway.
Let's get into it!

365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On the Rent Axiom

"The Rent Axiom says that success is never owned. Success is only rented and the rent is due every day."
Quote by Rory Vaden

The Rent Axiom is a powerful way to look at success.
Instead of thinking of success as something that is given to you, thus risking that you’ll take it for granted and become complacent, you assume that you only rent it — and to keep it in your life, you need to pay the rent each and every day.

Another consequence of adopting this perspective is that you’ll stop looking for shortcuts or temporary solutions.

The rent is due every day, so it’s not like you can take one magic pill and forever solve all of your problems.
It’s an empowering outlook on life that will help you not only reach success, but also (which is even more important) to maintain it.

Thousands of people all over the world have successfully lost weight, started exercising more, built successful businesses, improved their relationships, learned new skills, wrote books, and achieved other goals.

However, thousands of them also lost their success when they assumed it was there forever.
Spouses stopped putting in the effort. Businessmen let their competition crush them. Dieters reverted to their old habits and regained weight.

If you don’t want this to happen to you, remember to pay your rent every day and always make sure that your current actions confirm that you deserve the success you’ve achieved.

Wow! I haven't heard of this Rent Axiom before...and I must say, it's a very interesting concept.
Success is never owned, only rented.
Which means to stay successful, you have the pay the rent of consistency.
That's what I think anyways...

More thoughts?
Here goes:

I went to visit a friend today, Dora.
I've written about her in former posts which you can find on the main site, Documenting 2025.
Just search for "Dora", and the posts about her will pop up.

I went to see her, but not for the last time.
She already knows that I would be leaving and she even told her sister.
I also told her mum and grandma, who have become family 🙂
I will really miss them all.

Well, I already knew that I would be leaving...and now, it's getting real.
My dad wants to get the things my brother and I would need.
I will start prepping the documents as well.
Then we start packing 🧳

It's getting real, my friend!
I knew.
I just knew this day would come and I said in former posts that I don't know how I would feel then.
Now, how do I feel?

To be honest, peaceful.
It's like I won't even be leaving at all.
Sure, I'll say my goodbyes and shed a few tears...but somehow, I feel prepared.
I may not be fully prepared for what God has in store for me over there, but I know that He's with me.

And one thing I realized just now is this:
If you start your day with God, everything else seems to fall into place for the rest of the day. Like really!

Yesterday was kinda rough.
Today was just different....because the first hours of my waking were spent in His presence.
I want this to continue, because I want more peaceful days like this.

That would be all for today's post, and I want to end with a few prayers.
But first, thanks for reading 🎀

I pray that this week goes well for us all....with more blessings and reasons to be grateful 🥲
By God's grace, my brother and I will relocate safely.
And if by chance, you read this post....I pray for God's favor in your life this week.
Amen and Amen.

See you in the next post 💜
