Back on IG?!

It's day 286 of documenting 2025.
79 days to 2026!

Well...Monday was eventful.
For some reason, I was so engrossed in crochet this morning, and then I had to step out to visit a friend.
Came back and headed straight for my home-tutoring session.

I may or may not give a breakdown of all these activities...but let's see.
First, let's start with Highlights.
I'll give you the full gist afterwards.

365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Avoiding Problems

"Avoid what causes the opposite of what you want to achieve."

Quote by Peter Bevelin

If you want to be safe, it’s best not to attend dangerous venues.
For example, one of the most common places where bad things happen are nightclubs and their immediate vicinity.

If you don’t go to nightclubs, your risk of getting into a brawl or being attacked by a drunk person is greatly decreased.

It’s the same with self-control.
Instead of exerting self-discipline, it’s better to avoid problems that can cause the opposite of what you want to achieve.

If you want to be a frugal person, don’t go to shopping centers if you don’t have to, and don’t hang out with people who love shopping.

If you want to become more productive, sell your TV set, video console, and any other thing a lazy person considers a must-have.

If you want to stop drinking alcohol, stop going to parties where alcohol is the primary source of entertainment, and don’t spend time with people who live for the weekends.

Think about your goal, figure out what its opposite is, and then ask yourself which actions, people, and places can lead you to that opposite result and avoid them.

Simple and straightforward.
Avoid what will hinder your progress.
Now you just have to think of what those things could be.

Alright....back to the gist 😄
Today was okay, just me figuring some things out.
These days, I've been thinking of and doing things I've been afraid of doing.

I actually went on to announce on my X account that I would be hosting a space!
What would I talk about? No idea!
Or maybe I have a few ideas... 🤔
My point is, I've never spoken or hosted anything online before.

There's this nudge to go into public speaking.
I started to think about it (majorly overthinking 😅).
The idea is, I can practice the speaking aspect first, especially how to communicate effectively.
Then the 'public' part can come later.
I will probably go through a training, but that's much later.

Where can I speak?
What would I talk about?
Who would even listen?

All these thoughts populated my mind...

Then answers started coming up.
I literally have two books full of my handwritten notes, either from what I learned in a video, or a particular experience.
I could get ideas from there!
Someone suggested that I do videos on Tiktok.

Nah son....that place is another world on its own.

I prefer someplace that I'm familiar with, but haven't mastered too well.
That's where my Instagram account comes in.
I decided to just continue with my old account...the one I recently deactivated.
Facebook has to go tho....I don't just vibe with that place 😏

X and Instagram are good combos.
One to share my ideas in writing...and the other to showcase the video side of things.
I'm no expert, but that doesn't mean I can't start from somewhere.
Just get used to it, and I can improve later.

Now, I really have to take my post scheduling seriously.
I've got Buffer for that...and I might connect my Instagram page soon.
X is already connected...
I hope this enthusiasm doesn't wane in the next few weeks.

I've already announced it here and said a bit about what I intend to do...and I hope the actual doing doesn't feel like a chore later on.
(Really hoping 😌)
Now, I will have to manage content, as well as my private life.

Business strategies? ✔️
Staying in one place? ✔️
Comparison to others? ❌
I'm actually saying this because of Instagram.
Me doing videos now...and me also watching the videos of slay queens and those making in online.

I look at what they wear and I shake my head.
"This is not it..."
For the past few days now, watching Instagram videos is becoming a habit.
Then it occurred to me that my page is my platform.
"Why not create my own videos?"
I can say what I want to say freely.

Then there was a problem.
I didn't know how to edit videos.
I had to learn.
A bit of research led me to Inshot, which I'm currently using.
It wasn't that hard to edit a video I recorded a few hours earlier.

There was also this insecurity about how I would look in the video.
But then I thought,
"Everyone started from somewhere".

It doesn't really matter, as long as I'm trying to pass a message across.
All these things to work on, and figure out....by God's given grace.

Oh wow! 😳
Why am I dozing off all of a sudden as I'm typing this post?
It's 10:26 pm....and I think I I should end today's post here.

Let me just say,
Thanks for reading 🎀
You know where you can read more posts like this, only on Documenting 2025.
I pray, that Tuesday will turn out better than the past days. Amen 🙏🏼

See you in the next post 💜
