The Voice Of Truth

It's day 249 of documenting 2025.
Happy Weekend ☺️
And good news, my friend
Tomorrow is the big 250 🎉
I don't even know what I'm going to write....so I won't think too much about it.
(Maybe reflect on some things?)
Anyways, today is going great...
At least, typing by 5pm in the evening isn't so late.
And my day consisted of a lot of walking and errands....phew!
Right now, I'm chilling in my room...and feeling like a thousand bucks.
(Too much detail...😄)
Let me first share the closing poem from the book, Lanterns For The Lost....a collection of poems written by moi.
There's no reflective question at the end like the others tho...because it's the very last poem.
When the Lanterns Fade
And now,
if the lanterns begin to dim,
let it not be from loss
but because your own light
has begun to rise.
What you held in your hands
was never the flame
only the match,
only the mirror,
only the question.
Let these verses follow you
like footsteps in the mist
not loud,
but sure.
Not answers,
but companions.
And when the world grows loud again,
when confusion presses close
remember,
silence can be sacred.
And the soul still speaks,
soft as ever.
Walk on.
Not fearless but faithful.
Not finished
but found.
A wonderful way to end a book, yeah?
That's by the way...
This will probably be the last post on the "Lanterns" tag section of this blog. You can read the whole collection as well.
It's free on my store. Download it here
That aside, let me share a little bit of what happened today.
So, earlier this morning, I was reading a book called God's Generals...and I noted a few things down from the book.
(By the way, I've been fascinated with Christian Literature these days....so many good books!)
Then a thought just came to me.
The Voice Of Truth.
Then I started thinking....
God's Word is truth, but most times, people don't hear it because they don't have enough of God's Word in them.
You can't give what you don't have.
You can't think about (or hear) what's not important to you.
Why am I saying hear?
Because something like this happens to me sometimes.
So, what happens is:
I'm in a particular situation or thinking about something.
Then I just hear a whisper....kinda like a still small voice in my thoughts.
Whatever I hear usually makes things clearer or helps me find a way out.
Most times, it's in form of a Bible verse.
That's why I started memorizing scripture 52 days ago.
Since then, I will admit that I've been able to navigate some difficult moments.
And I don't have to stop....if it builds me up spiritually.
A preacher I usually watch, Myron Golden said something in one of his videos...and this stood out to me.
He was like,
"We have too many songs or videos in our minds, and not enough Word in us".
This is so true, especially of those people who call themselves Christians.
It's more of religion out there, than actual followership of Christ.
And I agree with that notion 😌
I'll stop there so I can share today's highlights.
We're still highlighting a 365-day book, so we can't skip this next section.
By the way, the book is written by Martin Meadows.

📌 On Working Backwards
"A trick that screenwriters use: work backwards. Begin at the finish.
If you’re writing a movie, solve the climax first.
If you’re opening a restaurant, begin with the experience you want the diner to have when she walks in and enjoys a meal."
Quote by Steven Pressfield
When people set new goals, they often feel resistance because they find it hard to figure out the process needed to get to where they want to go.
If you feel like you are spinning your wheels, frustrated by the impossibility of discovering what the first step should be, start from the other direction.
Imagine yourself as a person who has achieved your goal.
Now work backwards: what have you done to get to where you are?
What have you avoided doing? What are you doing daily as the successful person who has accomplished this goal?
What are your beliefs?
How do you feel?
Break it down into small parts and now you have a list of all of the actions you need to take to get to your destination.
Start with an action you think is within your reach and take it from there.
An additional benefit of this exercise is that you get to visualize all of the actions that are necessary to achieve the change; unlike visualizing the outcome alone (which is generally ineffective), this type of visualization can be helpful in boosting your resolve.
Hmm 🤔
I haven't actually applied this technique before.
Working backwards?
That's a whole lot of visualization.
Well, it can work for someone who has no single idea of what he has to do. If I were to try this, I would first search for those that have attained the success I want to get.
Then I would learn how they got there, and just work out my backward plan from there.
In my opinion, one can't visualize myself without some similar input first. And it's better to learn from the mistakes of those in the level you're attaining to, than to spend a lot of energy on a mental exercise, which might not give you the accurate output.
But hey! Don't mind me...I'm just saying.
I'm going to end with a Bible verse...one that I understood recently.
Galatians 6:9 says,
"And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not".
This verse is a reminder that we should always continue on the good path 😌
I would always tell myself, "Abide".
Never stop...keep going.
Eventually, you'll smile and thank yourself for not giving up.
I did good on the conclusion, yeah?
Thanks for reading 🎀
