One Day To The Countdown!
It's day 264 of documenting 2025.
Happy Sunday, my friend 😊
I wish you a wonderful week ahead
I decided to type early today...and break the streak of late night typing.
It's 10:59AM.
So, what would I start with?
Not actually clear... 🤔
Maybe my anticipations of the new week...or how the previous week went.
I'll pick the latter.
We're moving forward, not back.
That being said, let's look at today's Highlights first and then I'll share my thoughts afterwards.
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Being Honest With Yourself About Your Feelings
"Always be honest with yourself about how you are feeling, no matter what kinds of emotions might be building up inside of you. Pretending to ourselves that we are not feeling something does not make that emotion disappear."
Quote by Nigel Cumberland
Pretending to yourself that you aren’t feeling a temptation to cheat on your diet, waste time instead of working, or vent your anger on somebody else doesn’t make those urges disappear.
If anything, there’s a risk that those
emotions will build up inside of you and explode one day.
If there’s one characteristic thing about explosions, it’s that they’re uncontrollable.
Instead of denying those emotions, observe them and seek a different outlet. Perhaps you could vent in a different way without hurting anyone.
Maybe you need to schedule a cheat meal and indulge a little to avoid an unplanned cheat week.
It’s possible that you’re overworking yourself and the temptation to take it easy is in reality your body’s cry for help.
Be honest with yourself about your feelings, especially those that stand in direct opposition to what you want to achieve.
Remain vigilant of them and manage them instead of denying that they exist, or one day those feelings might take control of you.
This resonates with me 😌
There's a quote that came to mind just now...
"Don't hide it...feel".
I learned how to address my feelings even when they were to negative.
By letting it out.
I didn't realize it until a few years later...but when my mom passed away, I turned to writing to process my grief.
Then I discovered my passion for it.
And now, I write down anything and everything.
Putting down your thoughts on paper is a good way to let your feelings out.
Another way is to talk to God in prayer.
That's actually my favorite way of addressing my feelings.
I don't hide how I feel, I just tell Jesus and ask Him to help me if it's a negative feeling.
He makes me feel better almost immediately.
You should try it too 🙂
Nothing dramatic.
No loud prayers or even long praise and worship sessions.
As soon as you feel something negative, you can say something as simple as:
Jesus,
This is how I feel: (describe it)
I don't like feeling this way.
Help me feel better.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28,
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest".
Be sincere and He will help you.
That's my two cents on today's highlights...and, I shared the whole note.
Now, my thoughts on the new week.
First, I'll be taking a new bag with me to the school where I teach...and it's so handy 😄
The one I was using before couldn't contain most of the things I take with me, including my bottle of water.
This week will be different!
I thank God for His provision.
Second, it has been confirmed that admissions are due next week.
The registration finally closed just last week, and now the admissions are being processed.
Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
I literally have a few weeks to spend at home, before I will have to leave.
For good.
Well, not for good...just for a long time. Believe me when I say it's something I have never done before. Leaving where I have called home for the last decade and a half.
It's scary when I start to think about it, but I instantly remember God's Word in Joshua 1:9
"Have not I commanded thee?
Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee, whithersoever thou goest"
He is with me 😌
So, I won't be alone.
And I believe that God is taking me out of the land of the familiar...to a place where I will prosper.
If you going through a significant change in your life as well, I believe He's doing same for you too.
Let's trust in Him with all our heart.
He's in control.
Let me end today's post on that note...
And wish us a wonderful week ahead once more.
Thanks for reading 🎀
Tomorrow, I'll officially start the countdown series, where I'll be counting down to 2026.
And it will reflect in the images too.
To see all the series I've written about throughout the past months, check out the main site, Documenting 2025.
See you in the next post 💜
