New Screen, More Caution

It's day 270 of documenting 2025.
95 days to 2026!

It's the weekend!
And my Saturday is almost over...
#Latenightpost

Few hours ago, I made dinner.
Twas quite exhausting but the soup tasted great!
Just wanted to start with that....

And this as well
(because we're still on Behind The Scenes)...
I was awake for the most part of last night...watching YouTube.

This time, I wasn't doomscrolling.
I was watching a video of Erika Kirk, speaking at her husband's memorial service.
What fascinated me the most was the fact that I never really heard of the late Charlie Kirk until after the news that he was assassinated this month.

At first, I was like...
"Who is this guy and why is everyone talking about his murder?"
After my YouTube research, I understood a lot more about living for Christ, till you leave this world.

And what made me satisfied was the fact that what Charlie started when he was 18 years old would live on, even after his passing.
What was most emotional was when Erika said that she forgives "that young man", who murdered her husband.

This was after she mentioned what Jesus said on the cross,
"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do".
The audience gave a standing ovation after she said, "I forgive him".
For me, that was the highlight of the whole video 😌

And as with any big news...other content creators came up with videos of their own...ranging from mysteries surrounding Charlie's death, to why the doctors couldn't save him....even how his killer escaped and the motive behind the act.

I did well to ignore those...as I would just end up in a rabbit hole.
You did good, Duon 🙂
The fact remains that a good man was killed and the world was shaken by his death. Reminds me of the life of Jesus.

Anyways, those are my thoughts on that particular topic.
Let's see what we have in Highlights and then I can share more thoughts.

365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Self-Reflection

"Socrates compared living without thinking systematically to practicing an activity like pottery or shoemaking without following or even knowing of technical procedures.

One would never imagine that a good pot or shoe would result from intuition alone; why then assume that the more complex task of directing one’s life could be undertaken without any sustained reflection on premises or goals?"
Quote by Alain de Botton

Set a timer for 15 minutes and do nothing else but sit or lie comfortably and think about your current problems or anything that’s been on your mind recently.

It’s incredible how much insight you can get by hitting the pause button for mere 15 minutes and simply thinking, without doing anything else.

When people are new to personal development, they tend to think more than act. They spend more time reading than actually implementing advice.

Once you gain some experience and develop a habit of taking action, the opposite is often true: you take a lot of action, but rarely reflect on it.

The exercise for today can remedy this situation by reminding you that you get the best results not only when you act, but when you act and reflect on your actions to ensure the highest effectiveness.

They say, "think before you act".
True...but when you think after taking an action, it helps you to know what direction to follow.
That way, you can be sure that your next step is the right one
Well, that's what I think anyway...

More thoughts?
Okay, just one...which I see as the highlight of the previous week.

So, I think I mentioned in a former post that my phone had a terrible crack on its screen, after hitting the ground.
I wasn't angry that it happened, or worried of how I would fix it.
That same night, I told my dad.

He looked at my phone..and then gave it back to me.
He was like, "okay".
Then, I didn't really expect him to do anything about it, because I knew that he was saving up to set me and my brother up in school.

I had the intent of using some of my money to fix it...not even knowing where I would do so.
But then this afternoon, my dad had it fixed!
I was at his shop when he told me that someone was coming to fix it.

When the person came, he merely replaced the cracked glass protecting the screen.
Now, my phone looks like new 😄
New screen, more caution.
Even my dad said...in usual sarcasm, "if you like, drop the phone again".
(My dad sometimes....)

What I realized is the fact that God will always answer us...even when we think He's too busy to do so.
We just have to tell him and open up about how we feel.
He's always listening 😌

That's all for today's post...and I'm sure there's more to come, which I will share here (as long as it doesn't cause me to feel super embarrassed)
