The Prodigal Daughter

It's day 174 of documenting 2025.

Happy Monday, my friend ☺️
It's gonna be a great week,
And a great day!
I just know it...

Some realizations are coming to mind....
Things I've been running from for a while.
I can't quite describe it...but do you remember the Bible story of the prodigal son?
In this case, I'm the prodigal daughter.

Yeah... that's a better way to explain it.
And soon, things will change.
Very soon.
By change, I don't mean a bad change.
It's the good kind.

Oh! Did I tell you?
I finally got a response to the reader survey I created.
Finally! ๐Ÿ˜
One response on my survey restored hope that more would come.
Honestly, I was already starting to give up on the idea that I would get any responses.
Glad I didn't...

One more thing ☝๐Ÿผ
It's something deeply personal...but I'm gonna drop hints.
Over the weekend, I finally decided to let go of a certain fantasy in my head.
It was there for a while...and I hoped it would come true.
One chat changed it all....and I've finally let go (something hard for me to do....).

I'm sure things will be fine.
I believe so ๐Ÿ˜Œ
Let's move on to today's sections before I get emotional.
Highlights go first...and then Meditations.

365 Days With Self-discipline
๐Ÿ“Œ On Experiencing Life

"Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup.
All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle."

Quote by Paulo Coelho

"While this book and most of my other books glorify self-discipline and make it sound like the most important thing in the world, I don’t want you to think that a life of deprivation is the right one.
In fact, I believe that unless you espouse self-discipline in a healthy way, it might be close to impossible to maintain it in the long haul."
(Martin Meadows says...)

However, what is a healthy approach to self-discipline? It’s the attitude that self-discipline exists to support you in your goals, but it shouldn’t prevent you from fully experiencing life.

(Interesting! ๐Ÿค”)

However, as the quote from Paulo Coelho’s says, please note that you should experience some things only a little, while others are there to be enjoyed to the fullest.

There are also experiences that you can skip without any regrets.
For example, you don’t have to take hard drugs to know that it’s a bad idea, while indulging in unhealthy food every now and then (ideally when celebrating something with your loved ones) isn’t that bad.

Lastly, don’t treat it as a permission to cheat.
You shouldn’t go on a trip while in the middle of your diet just so you can indulge in unhealthy food or get lazy because it’s sunny outside while you have an urgent job to do.

(Guilty as charged ๐Ÿ˜…)

Accept with welcoming hands what life has to offer, but make sure that you drink from the right cups, and in the right amount — not too little, and not too much.

Wait a minute...
How will I know the right cups to drink from? Probably if I drink from all of them...

You know what I'm saying? ๐Ÿ˜

Don't get it twisted tho...
By cups, I think he means activities to engage in and enjoy.
Cup....Activity
Drink....Engage
Comprendo?

On to the next...
Meditations.
I just picked one lesson today.
It just felt right to do so.

Meditations
๐Ÿ“Œ Book 3: In Carnuntum

12. If you do the job in a principled way, with diligence, energy and patience, if you keep yourself free of distractions, and keep the spirit inside you undamaged, as if you might have to give it back at any moment....

If you can embrace this without fear or expectation—can find fulfillment in what you’re doing now, as Nature intended, and in superhuman truthfulness (every word, every utterance)—then your life will
be happy. No one can prevent that.

Hmm...
Superhuman truthfulness.
Do you think that exists?
If you ask me, I'll say I'm not sure...but it's possible.
Very possible.

In the world of impossibilities and missed opportunities....there's always one possibility and opportunity.
It stands out...but nobody believes it.
That's why it's not recognized.

(What's she blabbing about? ๐Ÿคจ)
Don't mind me...
I'm just cranking out some Monday motivation.
Doesn't seem to be working, does it?

Anyways, that's it for today.
Thanks for reading ๐ŸŽ€
And if you're the anonymous person that responded to my survey...
I really appreciate it.
You made my day...thank you ๐Ÿ˜Œ

And if you're not the anonymous person, you can be.
I would really love to hear from you.
Take the reader survey
