On Easing Into The Pain

It's day 164 of documenting 2025.

Happy Friday, my friend ☺️
Although I'm not so excited that the break is coming to an end, someone to be thankful for is the fact that I'm alive.
And so are you!

Lemme start with how yesterday went.
Hmm...
So, funny story ๐Ÿ˜…
My dad had planned for me to stay with my younger siblings while they did their national ID registration.
We prepared and got to the place.
It was closed for the day.

What's funny is that he called someone living in that area before we left the house to help him check if the place was open.
She didn't check it herself, she sent her child, who said it was.
This is according to what my dad told me.

He was completely pissed ๐Ÿ˜ก
As we waited close to the locked doors, he called the person again.
She didn't pick it.
Seems she was busy...
On the way home, he made it clear that he had wasted money on transport.
In addition to that, we had misplaced the registration forms he acquired months ago.
He definitely said a lot...

We came back home and I was able to meet with my hairdresser for a new hairdo.
I may take some pictures...

Anyhoo, that was yesterday.
This is today.
We're looking at two sections today, as usual.
Highlights and Meditations.

Fun fact:
If you scroll down to the end of this post, you will see "Meditations" as a tag I added.
For posts where I had discussions with AI, I tagged them as "AI Series".

You can find all post with these tags on the main website.
If you're reading on mobile, you should see a sidebar where my adorable face is displayed.
As well as the posts arranged by months and tags.

It's easier to select posts this way.
Besides you may not want to read anything else apart from the posts where AI and I had a conversation.
Or maybe not.
Either way, you can check it out.

365 Days With Self-discipline
๐Ÿ“Œ On Easing Yourself Into The Pain

"One painful duty fulfilled makes the next plainer and easier."
Quote by Helen Keller

I've read Helen's story.
Long story short, she became blind and deaf at a very young age.
But she defied those disabilities and got an education.
Even graduated from college...
Her story is one of courage and determination.

(on with the quotes...)

"If you have a few unpleasant tasks to perform and you have no idea where to start, begin with the least unpleasant task to ease yourself into the pain, so to speak.
Once you cross off the first task, working on the next task — even if it’s more painful than the first one — should be easier because you’ll be warmed up, carried forward by the positive momentum."

Pretty solid strategy ✅
I think I will try this today...cos I got a list of unpleasant tasks to finish up.
Just gotta write them down first....✍️
(Can you believe this babe?...)

"If even the least unpleasant task on your list is still so overwhelming that you don’t want to get to it, warm yourself up to discomfort by doing virtually anything else that’s slightly uncomfortable, such as doing the dishes, performing a quick set of squats, or cleaning your desk.
This way, you’ll slowly transition from being comfortable into being a bit less comfortable, and eventually, into the unpleasant task you need to perform"

In summary, do something to make it easier for you to bear the pain ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Meditations
๐Ÿ“Œ This should make you think...

So, I saw these two separate lines of thought....read each of them twice.
I didn't ask AI tho...
I think I can figure out this one.

"Do external things distract you? Then make time for yourself to learn something worthwhile; stop letting yourself be pulled in all directions.
But make sure you guard against the other kind of confusion.
People who labor all their lives but have no purpose to direct every thought and impulse toward are wasting their time—even when hard at work".

Okay, so I think this one is mainly calling to the reader to focus and avoid all forms of distraction and confusion.
What do you think, my friend?
What's your two cents?

"Ignoring what goes on in other people’s souls—no one ever came to grief that way. But if you won’t keep track of what your own soul’s doing, how can you not be unhappy?"

When I first read it, I was like huh? ๐Ÿคจ
Then I read it again.
"Keep track of what your own soul's doing"....
Does that mean tracking your actions and emotional states?
I think so, and I may be wrong.
However it is, it brings us to the end of this section.

Before I say my concluding lines, there's one more thing I would like to share☝๐Ÿฝ
I was scrolling on YouTube yesterday evening when a post by Alex Hormozi caught my eye.

It was actually 5 slides...but I paid attention to only one of them.
That particular slide said,

Pro tip for goal writing:

Next to each goal, write down what you're willing to give up to get it.

You can't add hours to your day, so you have to start by making room for the things that matter by removing the things that don't.

That was a hit in my mind ๐ŸŽฏ
I've never thought of writing down goals that way before.
I'm gonna try it.
And I hope you do so as well.

Okay, I think that's all for today's post.
Drawing the curtains...
Thank you for reading, my friend ☺️
I just realized that I've been writing more than I've been promoting this whole blog.
Marketing says, the more people that get to see your stuff, the better.

I guess posting on my Face page and my WhatsApp status is enough, right?
Thanks again ๐ŸŽ€
If you would like to read more posts, check out the main site, Documenting 2025.
I'll see you there ๐Ÿ˜‰

I also created a survey based on this blog.
It takes less than 3 minutes to answer and I won't ask for any contact info.
See it here.
I would really love to hear from you.

I'm Duon Ada.
I'm documenting 2025,
And I'll see you tomorrow.
Ciao ๐Ÿ’•
