Work...Work...Work!

It's day 138 of documenting 2025.

Work!
More work!!
Much more work!!
(I'll later explain why...)

Happy Sunday, my friend ☺️
It's the start of a new week...and my closest friend has a job too.
Something to keep him busy...since he's on holiday from school.
I'm super happy for you, PK!

Yeah...
Back to my weird beginning of this post.
I realized something.
If you have something to do, there's usually no room for any other disturbing thoughts.
If you have any, you just have to shove them aside, so you can focus on the task at hand.

This concept has saved me a lot.
And it's saving me till now.
I'm a teacher...and coupled with the content I have to create weekly, it's quite a lot on my plate.
No time for doomscrolling anymore.
Like literally!

It's either I have this to do...
Or that to figure out...
Or those to learn...
And I'm also learning the subjects I teach...which will greatly help me in my coming test.
The screening test from my school of choice...that determines if I get admitted or not.

I like it this way.
I don't feel overwhelmed.
Not at all.
I can learn more about how to prioritize and organize.
And the big secret is....(shh 🤫)
I finally decided to take up a teaching job so I could learn...not really for the pay.

I could easily make what I will earn from a one-month content writing gig.
But this work really takes me out of my comfort zone...which is basically my bed.
And my quest to challenge myself has just begun.

I just finished reading a section from "The Ultimate Focus Strategy" by Martin Meadows.
Also the author of 365 Days With Self-discipline...what I call the usual read.
The section talked about a lack of long term dedication when it comes to achieving goals.
Let me share some parts that stood out to me.

"A long-term lack of motivation most likely signals that you’re working on the wrong goal.
There’s only one solution here: reconsider your goal and ask yourself if it’s truly something you want to achieve or just enjoy dreaming about it."
(That's deep!)

"If you can’t imagine your life without making your dream come true, you’re suffering from a temporary problem that has a simple solution — namely, befriending and enjoying the company of boredom and repetition."

This one stood out because I think it applies to me.
I can handle repetition.
But not boredom 😐
Gosh! It could kill me!

That's why I'm always trying to explore something new, and make things a bit more exciting.
I've learned it's not the way.
I will have to enjoy being bored of repeating a task...if the goal means a lot to me.
Noted 📌
So help me God!

"No matter what you’re trying to accomplish, it will be repetitive, boring, and possibly painful at times. You can’t escape it, but you can embrace it.
Once you fall in love with the everyday process — with the good days and the bad days, the easy and the difficult problems to solve, the exciting and the boring tasks — you’ll stop thinking of motivation in terms of an exhilarating feeling you have each day, and instead focus on what produces long-term results — a work ethic and a dedication that force you to work, regardless of how fired up you are (or aren’t)."

This one stood out to me because it was more like an encouragement and reassurance that it will always be worth it in the end.
I will keep going with this reminder.

Let's move to the next two sections now...
And I wrap up this post.

365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Nature Boosting Your Focus

"Nature, which is filled with intriguing stimuli, modestly grabs attention in a bottom-up fashion, allowing top-down directed-attention abilities a chance to replenish.
Unlike natural environments, urban environments are filled with stimulation that captures attention dramatically and additionally requires directed attention (e.g., to avoid being hit by a car), making
them less restorative."
Quote by Marc G. Berman

"Research suggests that spending time in nature regenerates your ability to concentrate.
What’s interesting is the finding that even viewing pictures of nature can be restorative."
(Really? That's new! 🤔)

"If you’re struggling to concentrate on an important task and no amount of self-control helps, head out for a walk in a forest or any other non-urban environment."
(Now ya know, my friend 🎀)

"If you can’t afford or don’t have easy access to the wilderness, at least try to spend some time in quasi-natural environments like a city park or even just your own backyard.
If even that is not possible, put on your headphones and turn on a
video of natural scenery."

No comments on this one.
I agree with the points made tho...
There's something about being in a natural scenery that makes you focus.
Whether it's on the sound of a bird chirping, or the leaves rustling 🌿
That's my two cents.
What do you think about this?

Moving on...

Blast From The Past
📌 Have You Had "Shiny Objects Syndrome"?

Yep!
I definitely know the reason behind this title....
I was divided between starting a new book and continuing with Tony's book.

Then I mentioned the "shiny objects syndrome".
When you see something better and seemingly more efficient than what you're currently doing (shiny object 💎).
Then you switch to it, instead of sticking to your initial plan of action.

I think this is something most of us do a lot but don't realize.
By "most of us", I mean youngsters between the age range of 15 - 23.
Mind you, I said "most" not "all".
I'm sometimes guilty of this as well.
But I'm learning to stick to one thing and doing it for a long time.
I hope you're doing same as well, my friend ☺️

Time to wrap up!
I wish us all a wonderful week ahead ♥️
I hope it goes well for for me.
And for you as well.
This is where today's post ends.

Thanks for reading...as always.
For joining me on this journey to writing 365 days in a row.
It's like I'm learning a lot more each day.
I'm just sharing all of it here, so the memories can live on.

Although I'm not perfect, I keep going....and I will get to day 365 of documenting 2025.
I hope you're there by then.
To read more 'imperfect' posts, visit Documenting 2025.
I'll see you there 😉

I'm Duon Ada.
I'm Documenting 2025,
And I'll see you tomorrow.
Ciao 💕
