Knowledge Profound, On A Friday

It's day 136 of documenting 2025.

Yay! It's another Friday 😄
Or as I call it, "Friyay!"
I can smell the weekend already.

We'll close early today tho...
Earlier than the usual closing time.
Hopefully, I can have a long nap after I get home.

Now, I understand what rest means and I will appreciate weekends more.
I'll use it well...so I can recharge for the new week.
When my real work starts.

Yesterday was the first parents-teacher meeting in the school where I teach.
I only knew about it that morning...
And I dressed well...first impression, check! ✅
It was tiring tho....as I had to wait behind for a teacher's meeting.

But something good came out of it.
After the meeting with my parents, one of the students in my class introduced me to her mum.
She wanted me to help her with after-school tutorials.
Her mum asked me if I could do it.

To be sure I wasn't violating, I asked the administrator if arrangements like that were allowed.
She said yes.
Then I told the parent I would do it.
After price was discussed (nothing too much or too little), it was slated for next week.
I'll be going home a little bit later now.

I also told the principal about the arrangement with the parent and she was fine with it.
She also said she would inform other parents who may be interested...and let me know.
It's getting real, my friend 🎀

Some people may wonder why I do all these things.
I'm doing it mainly to learn....and then to contribute something to others, which in this case...are students.
It's also a chance to go to a new environment, see a new set of faces and make new circumstances.

What are Fridays like for you?
Are they slow...fast-paced...or something in between?
Is it a chance for you to relax a bit...and thank God for how the ween went?
Is it just another day of work for you...nothing special attached?

I hope your answers are positive ones...not the opposite.
No matter how Friday...or the weekend is, I'm sure your best interest is in mind.
It's your life to live.
You do you 🙂

Let's move on to the sections for the day...
Honestly, Blast From The Past was a great experiment.
A chance for me to look back on the early days of this blog,
And think about how far I've come.

I think I'll keep doing it.
Besides, it's not everyone that has the time to scroll through to the early posts
It's a win-win 😄

Let's do a switcheroo.
Instead of Highlights first, it's...

Blast From The Past
📌 How Blessed Can She Be?

I don't exactly remember why I chose this title.
But I'm guessing it's because I was being grateful for what I have and the fact that I'm content with where I am...makes me blessed 😌

I mainly shared some quotes and talked about Profound Knowledge.
It's a term from Tony's book that means, "any simple distinction, strategy, belief, skill or tool that the moment we understand it, we can apply it to make immediate increases in the quality of our lives."

I also shared a link to my newsletter, which is dormant for now.
You can still join the list....so you'll get my emails in your inbox when I resume sending them out.
You can read the full post here.

Next up, it's the indispensable....

365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On The Desire For Happiness Replacing The Need For Self-discipline

"Pitching is what makes me happy. I’ve devoted my life to it.
It determines what I eat, when I go to bed, what I do when I’m awake.
It determines how I spend my life when I’m not pitching.
If it means in the winter I eat cottage cheese instead of chocolate chip cookies in order to keep my weight down, then I eat cottage cheese.
I might want those cookies but I won’t ever eat them.
That might bother some people but it doesn’t bother me. I enjoy the cottage cheese.
I enjoy it more than I would those cookies because I know it will help me do what makes me happy.
Life isn’t very heavy for me. I’ve made up my mind what I want to do. I’m happy when I pitch well so I only do those things that help me be happy.”

Quote by Tom Seaver

It's a long one, ainit?
I think what Tom is trying to say is....when an activity makes you happy, you don't need self-discipline  to keep doing it or stay on track.

"If something makes you extremely happy, the desire to do it as much as you can will replace or at least greatly diminish the need for self-discipline.
Obviously, the thing that you love must be good for you — eating French fries may make you extremely happy, but devoting your life to them won’t be a good idea."

"If you already have such a big passion in your life, link it to your new resolutions.
There’s always a way to combine a positive change with an improved ability to engage in your passion (for example, eating better will make you more energetic, which will make you better at everything you’re doing, including your passion), so tap into this resource and let your desire to engage in your passion render self-discipline unnecessary."

Oh! I think I understand what this means...
When you want to engage in your passion, it will be much easier to incorporate habits that can help you do just that.

Thus, less self-discipline is needed because you're doing it for the sole purpose of engaging more in your passion.
What's your take on this? Do you agree?
If you can, let me know in the comments.

Is this where today's post ends?
I think so 🤔
Another not-so-significant gist is that some candidates who took JAMB will be resitting for the exam.
It was confirmed that a technical glitch messed with the results of particular candidates.

I'm not part of them that were affected...but my brother is.
A message was sent to him, telling him that he was scheduled to resit.
I didn't get any message...so I'm safe.
I checked online as well...same thing.
So, I'm good 😁

As for my brother, it's a chance for him to redeem himself.
He scored 183 (out of 400) and could almost swear that his result was rigged.
Let's see what happens.

Thanks for reading, my friend 🎀
