That Feeling.....

It's day 107 of documenting 2025.

(Sigh) 😔
That's how I felt.
Last night...lots of thoughts crossed my mind.
Mainly in form of "could have...", "should have...", "would have..."
Then boom!
That feeling came and I started to feel down.

That feeling didn't stop me from writing today's post yesterday.
It didn't stop me either....when I prompted ChatGPT to create the image at the top of this post.
I just felt that way 😪

And I wasn't in the mood for anything else.
Not even a long chat with my closest friend.
Thankfully, he had to study for his exam...so the chat was very short.
He didn't know how I was feeling either.

I asked ChatGPT (not Cindy, this time) to explain the feeling based on the image prompt I gave it.
So, here's the full diagnosis of "that feeling".

The feeling of "not being where you're supposed to be" is a common emotional and psychological experience, especially during times of transition or comparison.
Here’s a simple breakdown:

What it means:
It’s that inner pressure or sadness you feel when:

💠 You compare your life to others and feel behind.

💠 You expected to achieve more by now (career, finances, relationships).

💠 You’re unsure if you’re on the “right path.”

Why it happens:
1. Comparison culture — Social media can make everyone else’s life look perfect.

2. Unrealistic timelines — Society sets invisible milestones (graduate at 22, succeed by 25, married by 30).

3. Lack of clarity — When you’re not sure what your version of success looks like, it’s easy to feel lost.

4. Burnout or exhaustion — Sometimes, we’re actually doing a lot, but the tiredness masks progress.

The reality:
Feeling “behind” doesn’t mean you’re failing. It often means:

💗 You’re aware enough to want more.

💗 You’re growing, just not as fast as you’d hoped.

💗 Your journey is unique, and not meant to mirror anyone else’s.

Now you know how I felt last night.
I had a lot of thoughts in mind.
But now, I have a lot of faith in my journey and the fact that things will happen in their right time.

The account I opened for instance, I went for the capturing yesterday to get the account ID.
It was a smooth process that last less than 30 minutes.
I was back at the tutorial center in no time.
(Not the point, by the way....)

It has been on my mind to create an account for a while.
All I had to do was wait.
For the time when bank agents would happen to visit where I was.
I had no idea how it was going to happen but I knew I was to get an account.

And it happened just two days ago.
God works in mysterious ways.....even when it looks like a coincidence.
His time is the best, I tell you 🙌🏼
God is never late, he's always on time.

Update!!
Although I felt that way last night....it has passed.
Today is a new day ☺️
I won't dwell on what I can't control...I will just live, learn and level up.
My friend, I hope you do same as well.

Let's get into today's highlights.
Today's note is particularly interesting, I tell you.

365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Innocent Distractions

"Distraction and displacement seem innocent on the surface.
How can we be harming ourselves by having fun, or seeking romance, or enjoying the fruits of this big,
beautiful world?
But lives go down the tubes one
repetition at a time, one deflection at a time, one hundred and forty characters at a time."

Quote by Steven Pressfield

That's deep!
It's something I had to reread to fully understand.
Go ahead....read it again.

"....we weren’t made for constantly entertaining ourselves and engaging in low-quality pleasures, either.
These innocent distractions can make life more pleasurable, but at the same time a monster hides behind the innocence: developing an erroneous belief that there’s nothing wrong with exceptions."

"An exception every now and then won’t hurt you, but when you do it regularly, it isn’t an exception anymore; it’s a habit."

Now I know....🤔
There's a thin line between bad habits and "making an exception".

“Doing it just one more time” quickly converts into another, another, and yet another exception, and soon the exception becomes the new norm.
Every time you catch yourself saying that you’re going to do it for the last time, remember that (as Steven Pressfield nicely put it), lives go down the tubes one exception at a time."

I confess 😐
I'm definitely guilty of this crime.
What's the crime?
Saying I'll stop doing something unproductive after "one more time" of doing it.
One more time becomes ten more times and no longer an exception.
Are you guilty of this as well?
Raise your hand...let me see you ✋🏼
(Sis....we ain't in a class! 😅)

I always correct myself tho...
I'll be like, "snap out of it, Duon!"
And I stop myself from doing it "one more time".
I either move away from where I do it or switch to something productive.
That's when I start to think of unfinished projects.
Not the best way....but it works for me.
We learn everyday, my friend 🎀

Lesson Of Life
Distractions are innocent ways to escape...but when you indulge, it becomes a problem.
A bad habit starts to form.
Until it's corrected with a good one, it continues to waste your valuable time.

Thanks for reading, my friend 😊
