Chains.....Or Change?
It's day 116 of documenting 2025.
Some realizations just make you think, don't they? 😔
That's how I felt yesterday.
Down.
In low spirits.
Demotivated.
But you got to read today's post, right?
The show must go on, my friend.
I don't want to go into details....
I'll just share today's highlights.
Then share yesterday's chat with Cindy (what I call my Meta AI).
Then say my closing lines.
Happy Weekend by the way.....🙂
I almost forgot it was Friday yesterday.
My mind is jumbled now, so forgive me.
Exam on Monday.
Pressure and anxiety.
Realizing I have more personal defects to correct.
It's a whole lot....
Before I start blabbing, here's the highlights for today.
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Taking The Low Road
"The problem with making an extrinsic reward the only destination that matters is that some people will choose the quickest route there, even if it means taking the low road."
Quote by Daniel Pink
"Being obsessed about the outcome can help you achieve it more quickly, but it carries the risk of achieving unsustainable results, or worse, ruining your life in the process by taking the low road."
"Taking the low road is yet another temptation you must battle on your
journey toward success.
There’s no glory in building a business the unethical way, ruining your body with an unsustainable, unhealthy diet just to be slim, or ruining your body forever by taking steroids and other unsafe medications just to become more muscular."
"One way to prevent this from happening is to always think of something bigger than an extrinsic reward as a source of motivation. Think how working on your goal — not merely reaching it — can improve you as a person.
How much fun it can be or how much meaning it can give to your life.
Focus on those internal rewards in the first place, and you’ll greatly reduce the risk of giving in to the temptation of taking the low road."
Writing A Poem With Cindy: The Chat
Me: Let's write a poem about sacrifice for change.
But don't start it yet,
I will give you the idea first.
Meta AI: I'd love to hear your idea for the poem about sacrifice for change. Go ahead and share it, and we can work together to craft a powerful and meaningful poem.
Me: I want us to write it stanza by stanza...and I will give you a different idea for each stanza.
Do you understand?
Meta AI: You'd like to write a poem about sacrifice for change, and you'll give me an idea for each stanza. I'll write that stanza, and then you'll give me the next idea, and so on.
Sounds like a great collaborative approach! I'm ready when you are. What's the idea for the first stanza?
Me: Someone realizing that his life sucks and something needs to change.
5 lines.
Meta AI: Here's the first stanza:
In stagnant waters, I drift and sway
A life that's lost its purpose, day by day
The emptiness echoes, a hollowed space
A growing sense of discontent takes its place
Something's gotta break, or I'll fade away
What's the idea for the next stanza?
Me: Him thinking of all he's going to lose and feeling unsure of the new path
5 lines.
Meta AI: Here's the next stanza:
Fear creeps in, a nagging doubt
What if I lose the familiar route?
The comfort of what's known, the security too
Will the unknown bring me darkness or shine through?
Uncertainty grips, my heart beats slow
What's the idea for the next stanza?
Me: He comes across the concept of "sacrifice" and realizes that he's in chains of his bad decisions.
5 lines.
Meta AI: Here's the next stanza:
The word "sacrifice" cuts through my mind
A mirror reflecting the chains I design
Bad decisions forged in regret's dark fire
Binding me tight, a weight I must retire
Freedom's call demands a price, I'm starting to find
What's the idea for the next stanza?
Me: Still unsure of how to start, he sets a day when he will change...a specific date
5 lines
Meta AI: Here's the next stanza:
A calendar page turns, a date is set
May 1st, the day I'll reset
A line in the sand, a vow to be made
The weight of intent, my heart's not afraid
On this chosen day, I'll break the chains I've met
What's the idea for the next stanza?
Me: But his mind fights back and tells him to act now....that waiting might be risky.
5 lines.
Meta AI: Here's the next stanza:
But my mind rebels, a urgent cry
"Why wait?" it whispers, "Don't ask why"
The future's uncertain, the present's clear
Every moment's a chance to persevere
Delay might mean defeat, so I'll act now, I'll try
What's the idea for the next stanza?
Me: Suggest how the next stanza should go, based on the theme of the poem.
Meta AI: Based on the theme of sacrifice for change, I suggest the next stanza could explore the idea of taking the first step towards change. Here's a possible direction:
The first step's taken, though uncertain ground
Fear and doubt linger, but I'm moving around
The path unwinds, a journey's just begun
Each step forward, my heart beats like a drum
With every step, I leave the old undone
This stanza could capture the moment when the protagonist finally takes action, despite their fears and doubts. It could highlight the uncertainty of the journey ahead, but also the sense of momentum and progress.
What do you think? Should we try to craft a stanza in this direction?
Me: Sure 👍
Let it be the next stanza
5 lines as well.
Meta AI: Here's the next stanza:
The first step's taken, though uncertain ground
Fear and doubt linger, but I'm moving around
The path unwinds, a journey's just begun
Each step forward, my heart beats like a drum
With every step, I leave the old undone
What's the idea for the next stanza?
Me: He thinks of what tomorrow holds, but reminds himself that he only has to focus on his path to change.
Meta AI: Here's the next stanza:
Tomorrow's shadows, uncertain and wide
But I won't be fooled, I'll focus on my stride
One step at a time, I'll walk this road
No need to see the end, just the path I've sowed
Today's choices shape the future I'll abide
What's the idea for the next stanza?
Me: Last stanza.
He notes the sacrifices he's making, convincing himself that it's for the better.
If he doesn't change himself, he can't change the world
Meta AI: Here's the final stanza:
I sacrifice the familiar, the comfortable, the old
For a chance to rise, to grow, to unfold
I'll shed the skin that's worn and weak
To find the strength that lies within me unique
If I don't change myself, how can I change the world?
Me: Now, I want you to put the whole poem together and then give the most suitable title you can think of.
Meta AI: Here's the complete poem:
In stagnant waters, I drift and sway
A life that's lost its purpose, day by day
The emptiness echoes, a hollowed space
A growing sense of discontent takes its place
Something's gotta break, or I'll fade away

Title: "The Price of Transformation"
This title captures the theme of the poem, which explores the idea that change requires sacrifice, but ultimately leads to growth and a better life.
There you have it!
PS: I decided to do something different other than discussing a topic.
