"We're The Heroes Of Our Lives!"
It's day 49 of documenting 2025.
What's today again?
Right, Tuesday....
Sometimes I forget how fast the days go by.
Well, it's a new day to be alive.
Cheers, my friend 🍷
You know J?
The girl I talked about yesterday?
We finally got the chance for a proper chat last night.
It got into the midnight tho.....
But it was nothing short of marvelous.
We exchanged stories and she decided that she wanted to work more on herself.
I didn't even bring it up or try to convince her.
She made that decision herself.
I assure you, my friend,
That small decision can change her life forever.
I'll be there to help her.
The best way I can.
No matter how busy I may get, I'll always find the time.
It's the same for my other friends.
I always try to show up for them.
Despite my own struggles.
Sounds heroic, right?
Let me tell you,
We may not be superheroes, but we're the heroes of our own lives.
Every time we show up, give it our all and help others, we're saving ourselves.
There's this song that was stuck in my head for the better part of yesterday evening.
I think it's by Coldplay.
If you know it, that's cool
These are the lyrics that seemed to be glued to my memory along with its tune.
🎶 🎵 🎶 🎵 🎶
She said, where d'you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I'm not looking for somebody with some superhuman gifts
Some superhero, some fairy tale bliss
Just something I could turn to, somebody I can miss
I want something just like this
(Awesome beats 🎵)
I think it's called,
"Something Just Like This"
For some reason, it was stuck in my head.
But I think my sleep unstuck it.
I didn't find myself humming it when I woke up.
I think I'm over it (or not! 😅)
First day at the tutorial centre wasn't so exciting for me.
This was yesterday evening.
What made me less uncomfortable was the fact that Bliss was there.
You know, the passionate designer I met on my registration day.
If you didn't read about that, here's the full gist.
Well, the classes were lively and reminded me of high school days.
They also reminded me of how much I have forgotten about Chemistry and Biology.
That's why I'm going to work extra hard.
And probably come up with a blueprint on how to use AI for studying 🌝
(One thing at a time, Duon....)
I also got homework!!
Which I did....hopefully I'm correct.
The digital marketer turned student 📚
Let me share highlights from today's books.
The usual read and a different one.
365 Days With Self-discipline by Martin Meadows and The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins.
Just a thought.....
I'm thinking Anthony Robbins and Mel Robbins are somehow related.
Anthony Robbins wrote the book, Awaken The Giant Within.
Maybe they are....maybe they're not
It's just a wandering thought.
If you can, look it up for me, okay?
Highlights From The Book
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 Day 49: On Obeying Lusts
"However, notwithstanding how much pleasure it can bring, it’s important to see the temptation for what it is — your enemy on the path toward freedom."
"The reward you’ll get for not succumbing to your temptations will more than make up for the price you pay today for missing out on the instant gratification."
"What the critics fail to see is that, through the rejection of those
temptations, the self-disciplined become the masters of their lives. They serve the goals chosen by themselves instead of fleeting, spontaneous temptations.
They choose to forego temporary satisfactions for deeper, more lasting ones later on."
The 5 Second Rule
📌 What Are You Waiting For?
"The time is always right to do what is right"
By Martin Luther King Jr
This quote started the chapter.
"Whatever reason you use to hold yourself back—you are wrong. It’s not safer to stay quiet. It’s not better to keep the peace. It’s not futile to try. It’s not risky.
You are wrong. All your excuses and reasons are wrong.
There is no “right time” to improve your life."
"That’s the way to bring the REAL you to the table—by pushing the real you out of your head and into the world.
And the best time to do it, is right now when your heart tells you to move."
"We waste so much of our lives waiting for the right time to have the conversation, ask for the raise, bring it up, or start things."
"Life is already hard, yet we make it so much harder when we listen to our fears, we convince ourselves to wait, and we hold our greatest selves back. We all do it."
"The question is, why do we do this? The answer is brutal. You can call it a fear of rejection, or a fear of failure, or a fear of looking bad.
The reality is, we hide because we are afraid even to try."
Hmm 🤔
I have a thing or two to say about this....
The time is never "right."
You just have to go for it.
Shoot your shot, as they say.
What if you fail terribly?
It doesn't mean you're a failure.
You had the courage to try and that makes you a success story in the making.
This brings us to the end of today's post.
I've got the study thing.
I got the Areas Of Concentration for the subjects I would be writing.
Four subjects.
English, Biology, Chemistry, Economics.
I'll start on them today...and I'm going to figure out how to make a mind map for certain topics in Chemistry.
Plus, it would be day 2 of my evening lessons.
Thanks for reading, my friend 😊
I'm always encouraged when I see the readers who return for the next post.
I hope you're one of them.
By the way, if you want to see more of the former posts I've written, check out the main website.
Who's writing this?
It's Duon Ada.
I'll see you tomorrow.
Ciao 💕
