Enigma: "There's Something About Them"
It's day 58 of documenting 2025.
I'm realizing now that February is already coming to an end.
In a few days, we'll already be in the third month of the year.
Hmm 🤔
Seems like 2025 is moving fast.
Don't you think?
Well, yesterday went well.
Mostly.....
I dozed off for the better part of the morning and made lunch in the afternoon.
Then set out for evening class.....came back and studied Economics before bed.
I think I'm getting good at reading people.
I told my closest friend PK, that I'm working on my people skills.
Which is true.
I try to have a conversation every now and then with the students and teachers.
I also try to notice their facial expressions, deduce what they might be thinking and reply accordingly.
I'm no psychic, but I would like to be an enigma.
Someone with many shades.
Acting one way, but expressing another.
Cracking open the human mind and bending their wills to act.
Okay okay.....
Maybe I should scratch that last sentence.
I'm starting to sound like a clairvoyant 😄
But seriously, it would be cool to have real mind powers.
Power you can use to influence someone in a positive way and make him or her, change.
Alas! We can't control how people behave.
We can only control how we behave.
I believe we all have the 'powers' to change our lives.
Most of us don't realize it.
It all starts in the subconscious mind.
The belief, the imagination.
Okay, I'm going to say something wonky.
I think it's no coincidence that I want to study Psychology.
For the past 10 years of my life, I've always been in my head.
My native name, Uchechukwu literally means 'the mind of God'.
I currently engage in self talk when I'm alone with myself.
And I pretend there are two versions of me.
One who acts and talks and thinks in an unstable manner and the other who tries to caution, encourage and assist the other.
Pretty weird, right? 🌚
Most times, I relate with people online and offline.
But my instinct chooses certain people to stick with.
Even if they're not as knowledgeable or disciplined as I am in certain areas.
Those certain people, there's just "something about them".
That's how I feel, as if they're going to become someone influential or great in the future.
Even though it doesn't seem like that now.
Some of those certain people, I haven't even met in person.
There's just something about them....something deep.
The rest, something more trivial.
I smile and laugh with the rest.
So much they think we're friends.
I can be their friend but they can't be my friend.
You may say it now, you have my permission to roll your eyes....
"This chick is inflated 🙄"
I'm starting to not give a damn about what others may think.
(Or even you 😏)
I know who I am.
I know my truth now.
By God's grace I am what I am.
A mystery to many but a gift from God.
This knowledge is like my fortification 💪🏼
One that most people will never have if they don't discover themselves.
How to discover yourself?
Just live ✨
And take notes.
Literally write stuff down.....or type in your phone
Notice bad patterns and try to change them.
Challenge yourself every now and then.
You will eventually figure out what you're capable of.
A tip coming from a girl who is sometimes at war with herself:
Write by hand for 30 days.
No...that's probably long.
Write for 7 days only.....in a book....in your own handwriting.
Not in your phone this time.
Write how you feel each day, events that took place and how you reacted.
Also write down what you can do about it the next day.
After 7 days is up, read what you have written.
I'm sure of the fact that something about you will have changed.
Even if it's a subtle change.
Your mind, a pen and paper are the three most powerful tools you have.
Tools that can literally change your life.
Sadly, most people rarely use any of these tools.
And they wonder why they can't change.
Sad indeed 😕
Let's draw the curtains here on my thoughts of mind power and mysterious coincidences.
I could go on and on about this....
(Maybe not!)
But, I think it's enough for now.
Maybe another time.
It's time for highlights 🙌🏼
You know, books I read before typing any post and the points I highlight.
Points I share with you everyday 🤗
Well, I actually just started highlights a couple of days ago....but that's by the way.
Today's reads are:
365 Days With Self-discipline by Martin Meadows (usual read)
Everybody Writes by Ann Handley (Thursday's read)
PS. I don't just read on personal development, I also read on writing and social media marketing.
Is any knowledge a waste? 🤷🏼
I'll leave you to answer that.
Okay, let's dive in.
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 Day 58: On Cultivating Physical Excellence
"First, an unhealthy body leads to an unhealthy mind."
"Physical debilitations that you can overcome with your own efforts
(such as obesity or a weak immune system due to bad nutritional habits) sap your energy and limit your potential."
"The more often you get sick, the
more difficult it is to build new habits and maintain successful routines."
"Second, a strong body is better prepared — both physically and mentally — to deal with any health problems that you can’t prevent."
"Last but most definitely not least, developing your body to your own
highest limit (which doesn’t mean becoming a muscle head or having a perfectly sculpted body) is a valuable goal in itself.
It shows you how much you can push your limits, teaches you how powerful long-term dedication can be, and can transform your entire mindset."
Just thought I should say this:
I'm not the most sporty person.
For now, I don't do gym.
But I work my legs every now and then.
I also do my stretches every night and sometimes in the day.
Besides, I walk to and from my tutorial center.
In better circumstances, I would probably be a gym rat 😂
Everybody Writes
📌 The More The Think, The Easier The Ink
"......the more you think about what you want to say, and plan for it, the easier it is to say."
"Figuring out what you want to say before you figure out how to say it seems an obvious first step."
"So, before you begin the writing, be sure you know the purpose or mission or objective of every piece of content that you write.
What are you trying to achieve?
What information, exactly, are you trying to communicate?
And why should your audience care?"
"A caveat: some writers—including me—write as a way to figure out what we think.
You, too, might develop your thoughts through writing, and you might not always have a clear sense of what exactly you want to say until you're knee-deep in the water".
"And, by the way, this approach applies equally well to blog posts or
presentations or books.
You might have more supporting points in a book or longer piece of content, but you should still be able to describe the key point in a single sentence."
Oh! I can say a lot on this!
But let me just answer the questions in the third quote.
First, I'm trying to achieve writing consistency and make it a lifelong habit.
Second, I'm trying to communicate my thoughts as a girl trying to explore her twenties, as well as the fact that I'm perfectly imperfect 💝
Third, my audience should care because this is something unusual, probably something never done before.
Documenting a whole year is a big deal.
C'est fini!
That's all for today.
I'm certain you learned a thing or two.
I also hope you will try the tip.
Tell me how it goes, okay? 😉

Thanks for reading, my friend 😊
I always appreciate you because you find time to visit my blog.
You encourage me to write more.
And for that, I'm grateful.
If you're a first time reader, I welcome you specially.
This is a very usual blog.
And I'll keep it that way.
You can read former posts on the main website, Documenting 2025.
(They're more than 50....just take your pick and enjoy 😁)
By the way, I'm Duon Ada.
The writer behind this melange of thoughts and ideas.
I'm documenting 2025.
And I'll see you tomorrow.
Ciao 💕
