Another Week In 2025 Is Gone!

It's day 46 of documenting 2025.

Happy Weekend to you 😊
I hope your week went well
If you think it didn't go well, stop and think for a moment.
Think of all the good things that happened this week.
I'm sure you can recount a few.

But this week is gone....
We look to next week.

Well, my week was......
What's the right word? πŸ€”
Yes.....eventful!
My week was eventful.

I built more connections and followed through with my reading plan.
Being intentional wasn't so easy tho....
And I got the courage to do something I've never done before.
It's very personal....so I can't relay it.
But I might make reference to it in future posts.

Before I started typing, a thought popped into my mind.
"What if I start freelancing?"
That single thought turned into a myriad of thoughts.
"I've never tried it before...."
"I'm shifting to offering services, so it's doable......"
"I have a certification course I'm still going through...."
"With the certificate, I can position myself for success in attracting clients......"
"But what about my JAMB exam?..."
"I'll start JAMB lessons next week....."
"How can I juggle all this?...."

If I were to reply myself, this is what I would say:
Darling, calm down.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
This is something you're considering.
But for now, I want you to focus on what is most important to you.
Think about why you want to start this new thing.

Is for the experience of trial and error? Is it for money?
Do you see yourself doing this in the long term?
How do you want to help others by doing this new thing?
If you believe you want to do it for the right reasons, go for it.
But if your reasons are shallow and materialistic, don't do it.

It's a possibility for you to succeed in it, I agree.
But first, learn more about it.
How it works, mistakes to avoid and how to set up yourself for success in it.
You also need to put into account, the systems you will need to put in place, as well as the sacrifices you have to make.
Don't go rushing into it blindly.
You might just take a nasty fall that could have been prevented.
Prevented with the light of information.

Write it down.
Gather information.
Think about the things involved.
Then make your decision.

It's a pretty long reply πŸ˜„
But I learned from it.
I hope you learned from it too.

Have you got plans for the new week?
Goals for the new week?

Whether it's a yes or a no, I believe the week will go well for all of us.

I told you this week was Revamp Week for me.
I paused posting on my Substack, after sending out an email to inform my subscribers about the development.
I also made a note on my Facebook page....but I still post the link to my blog posts on it.
How are the modifications coming along?
I'd say, not too good 😐

The most I was able to do this week was change the profile and cover pictures on both platforms.
I changed the bio on Facebook yesterday and I haven't done anything else on Substack.
I won't beat myself up.
I'm going to take my time on this.
I'll also make some changes today as well.
I started on these platforms when I had the short term mindset.
Things have changed and I see myself using them in the long term.
The settings will be much different.

Nothing worth having comes easy.
You have to work for it.
Struggle for it.
Fight for it.

Rest when you need to.
But don't stop trying.
When you stop trying, you fail.

Motivation is like a fling.
Discipline is like a long term relationship.
You can get motivated to start, but discipline is what will keep you going.

I'm just pouring out quotes today.
I've heard them from several places and they just came to mind now.
I hope someone out there is inspired πŸ˜‡

I read on social media marketing yesterday.
I just started with Gary Vaynerchuck's book, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook.
Weird name for a book (Imao πŸ‘€)
In the introduction, he compares effective social media marketing to boxing.
I'm guessing that's where the name comes from.
In addition, the front cover has a pair of boxing gloves on it.
I'm no fan of boxing, but I think I'm going to learn a lot.

I sometimes watch Gary Vee (as he's called) on YouTube.
Whatever he talks about, I always learn something.
And he talks about different things.
That's called Value.

I also read note 46 in 365 Days With Self-discipline by Martin Meadows.
Today's note was titled, On Looking Fear In The Face.
Here are my highlights:
πŸ“Self-discipline is a lot like dealing with fear.
πŸ“Regular practice will make you less susceptible to temptations and even more likely to ignore them, just like looking fear in the face will make you more likely to act in spite of it.
πŸ“Just remember that each situation that tests your resolve is another experience from which you can draw inspiration to overcome future challenging circumstances when they occur.

I definitely looked fear in the face yesterday....
And I'm glad the way things turned out.
I can't tell you what happened, but I'll say this:
The clarity and understanding you're searching for is on the other side of that fear.

That's all for today's post.
No poem today.
But you can check out my poetry page on Instagram to see the ones I've shared.

That is, if you like to read creative writing.

Thanks for reading, my friend 😊
Thanks for encouraging me to write more.

I always smile whenever I check my analytics.
The engagement, the scrolls, the readers....
It seems I'm doing something right with this blog.
And I'm just documenting.

You can check out all of my former posts on the main website.

It's Duon Ada, saying once again,
Thank you ☺️
I'll see you tomorrow.
