About My Coursemates....
It's day 364 of documenting 2025.
1 day to 2026!
The last Tuesday on holiday!
It wasn't particularly exciting, but I thank God for how it went.
Oh! One more thing...
My uncle came back last night!
It was all hugs and greetings as we welcomed him.
Now, let me start with how today went...
The morning was pretty ordinary, with chores and cooking.
Then my uncle went out and came back with things we would use for breakfast.
He was like,
"Make this for me, that's what I want to eat"
After breakfast, I then went online on Whatsapp and for the next hour, I was settling a dispute between my assistant course rep, E and his roommate, J
We all traveled to his home for a program a few weeks back and the time spent there became a bonding experience...it was like we became siblings 😇
This time around, J had a misunderstanding with E and I just had to come in and make a group call.
Apparently, J wanted me to "judge" the case, and I was like,
"I ain't no judge!"
Well, they talked it out and by the end of the 45-minute call, they were on good terms again.
I could tell from the way their conversation wasn't as conflicting anymore.
Mission accomplished!
I also started a coaching session with someone who wanted to learn social media management.
(It wasn't free, if course 😏)
I introduced him to AI as well and then encouraged him to self-learn as well.
Then I forwarded my blueprint to him and told him to go through it.
At that same time, I was chatting with one of the executives from the Student Union Government for my university.
I was actually unpolite to him at first, because at that point I wasn't even expecting any strangers in my DM. He pointed out my lack of courtesy and I quickly corrected myself, apologizing to him.
There and then, he gave me a little insight into what the SUG was all about and I finally understood.
If someone asks what the SUG is about, I can now give a response...
Unlike before.
I also noticed that the executives were called, "Giant Comrades".
Man! That's the highest of the highest title....because they're the executives of all the executives in the faculties in the school.
I definitely learned something new today.
Then my phone battery was on low
and I had to switch it off, but I asked the guy a question before doing so.
By the time I was done with my phone, they had interrupted the power. No more light!
I just plugged my phone in, hoping for the power to be restored.
Okay, I'll pause here and we'll look at today's highlights.
It's the penultimate post, y'all ✨
One more post to go!
PS. It's the author addressing you, the reader now
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Books, Part Two
"Books are the treasured wealth of the world and the fit inheritance of generations and nations.
Books, the oldest and the best, stand naturally and rightfully on the shelves of every cottage.
They have no cause of their own to
plead, but while they enlighten and sustain the reader is common sense will not refuse them.
Their authors are a natural and irresistible aristocracy in every society, and, more than kings or emperors, exert an influence on mankind."
Quote by Henry David Thoreau
On day 79 I shared with you three inspirational books and then, on day 158,
I suggested some biographies to read.
Today, now that we’re at the end of this
book, I’d like give you some additional recommendations that you might find it
valuable to read after you finish 365 Days With Self-Discipline .
Here they are:
1. Make It BIG! 49 Secrets for Building a Life of Extreme Success, by Frank
McKinney.
Brilliantly inspiring and practical book written by a fascinating entrepreneur and philanthropist.
2 and 3. Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within, by Tony Robbins.
Two self-help classics that everyone should read.
4. Essentialism, by Greg McKeown. If you’re struggling to identify your
priorities and focus on whatatters most, this book will help you.
5. The Obstacle Is the Way, by Ryan Holiday. An excellent book, loosely
based on the Roman philosophy of stoicism, that teaches you how to succeed in spite of hardships.
6. How Not to Die, by Michael Greger. If you want to learn more about the why and how of healthy eating habits, this book is for you. Understanding on a deeper level how your unhealthy choices can affect your life can boost your resolve to finally make a change.
We're definitely making changes as we step into the new year.
One thing I want to do more in 2026 is to offline reading...aka physical books and handouts.
I know that using my phone can most times be a distraction, and I can minimize the tendency to get distracted.
Sounds like a good plan!
Well, continuing with my story...
Nothing much happened afterwards. I did a few more chores and then took my bath before sleeping off till evening.
I actually thought it was going to be a nap...but it lasted for hours.
Guess I was pretty tired 🥱
By the time I woke up, it was already nightfall.
That's pretty much how my day went.
One thing I know for sure, many things are going to change in this coming year...and I'm going to take discipline very seriously this time around. So help me God 😌🙏
I actually mentioned that I was going to talk about my coursemates in a post...but I've decided to leave off doing that.
Reason is, they're up to 70 of them and we've only spent one month together in classes.
My perception of any of them might not be correct, because anyone can change...and as the saying goes, "you can't really know someone fully."
So, I don't want to be quick to make conclusions just yet.
By the time we resume, it becomes business as usual...and I'm definitely going to make it clear that I won't "help" anyone out during exams.
I'll create a study group if I have to...and I know that no matter what I do, some students will still engage in the misconduct.
Well, it seems like I'm getting ahead of myself.
After resumption, I'll just do what I can and leave the rest to God.
Let's see how it goes 😌
I think that would be all for today's documentation.
It wasn't much like usual, but some days are like that.
Thanks for reading 🎀
