Laundry and Orange Fest 🍊
It's day 311 of documenting 2025.
54 days to 2026.
Hey hey!
It's a Friday! 😄
(Or was....because the day is over already.)
Today went great.
I was finally able to do my laundry!
It was in the morning, and I got a space where I could spread my clothes to dry....which was near a group of orange trees. Oranges! 🍊
After taking my bath, I later went to check on my clothes, I got 3 oranges from one of the trees.
Then I went to my room, borrowed a knife from my roommate and then peeled them.
Man! They were sweet! 😋
Even as they were small....they still had lots of juice, which was oozing out as I cut them through.
It was like I won a jackpot!
The orange trees are numerous in my hostel, and they're free of charge.
I then did some research into how I would do feeding and nutrition as a student.
ChatGPT was a great help, and I was able to get a meal plan, according to the things I could easily get.
And since I'm not going to be cooking anything, it was a no-cook meal plan.
I'm talking things like bread, mayo, nuts, crackers and oranges.
I would also be fasting twice a week and taking a home cooked meal on Sundays.
Sounds like it's all set!
The idea is that I don't want to be so burdened with cooking, washing or cleaning up...and still get good nutrition.
Not that those things are not good.
I'm still adjusting to student life after 4 years of staying home, and I want to have the time to explore and set up a good foundation for the years ahead.
Did I mention that I met my brother yesterday?
After seeing him last on Monday, he finally came to my hostel.
Not to see me, but to collect some of my cloth hangers.
Boys! 😒
It was nice to see him in person tho...we joked around and said our goodbyes.
(No hugging or emotions...)
I think that would be all for the update...
Before I share any more thoughts, let's see today's highlights.
We're still on the same book we started with...the 365-day book.
Written by an amazing author called Martin Meadows.

📌 On Setting an Example
"Example has more followers than reason."
Quote by Christian Nestell Bovee
Does it bother you that people laugh at your efforts, wonder why you’re
deliberately making your life so difficult, or feel otherwise puzzled about your
recent efforts at making positive changes in your life?
Save your time and energy trying to reason with them; it won’t work.
Instead, focus on your goals and set an example.
Soon, when you achieve some results, people will start following your example, understand why you’re doing
what you’re doing, or at least shut up.
For example, people criticized me when I was on my diet, saying that I was
already skinny and shouldn’t lose more weight.
However, I knew that I had to drop some additional pounds to uncover more muscle definition.
Once I reached
that goal and my muscles became more visible, it became clear that I had been right from the get-go.
No amount of reasoning will make people change their minds in the same
way as an example standing right in front of them.
Similarly, don’t try to persuade people to implement positive changes in
their lives just because that’s what you’re doing.
Leave them be, and if they notice your results, some will probably ask you for advice and try to achieve the
same results themselves.
Again, it’s about setting the example, not expending empty words.
I've come to notice that people will actually believe what you're trying to convince them of, if you've actually accomplished that outcome.
If you're trying to convince them to build wealth, you have to be wealthy yourself.
It's probably how it works.
And I think it's a common mentality.
Why it's that way is what I'm going to study as a student of Psychology.
It's going to be quite interesting!
One more thought I would like to add is the fact that God answered my prayers.
In that He gave me a roommate with similar faith, and a good relationship with the other two roommates.
I'm actually the only fresher, as the rest are seniors.
As a result, I've been enjoying advice that will help me make good grades and build me here on campus.
It's more than what I asked for! 😄
Just this evening, I had a discussion with one of them.
We shared stories, experiences and thoughts about God and the fact that we're here to represent Him.
She also gave me tips on how to build a good relationship as assistant course rep, and get good grades.
It was a wonderful session.
I think I'm going to really enjoy my stay here! I'm so grateful to God for His grace.
I have resolved do my best and I believe He will help me 😌🙏
Well, that would be all for today's documentation.
I would keep at it till the last day of this year. Thanks for reading 🎀
By the way, I need to come up with a plan for these posts.
As it is, I may need to schedule them.
But what would I write, when I haven't lived out the day yet? Time will tell.
See you in the next post 💜
