A Very Interesting Lecture
It's day 331 of documenting 2025.
34 days to 2026!
Thursday?
My favorite day of the week, when it comes to lectures.
Why?
Because it marks the end of hectic lecture sessions, as Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the busiest days for us.
We had just one lecture today, and the class was quite controversial.
Controversial in what sense?
The fact that our lecturer indirectly dismissed the fact that there's anything called spirituality or "miracles" when it comes to treating mental disorders.
A student, by the name of Philip, then stood up and mentioned that in his church, prayers worked to raise up someone who was pronounced dead.
The lecturer then dismissed his story as a mere claim, asking the student to bring the report that showed the person was in fact, dead.
He then told us that if we were always believing in the supernatural, that we could go look for another course...that Psychology is not for us.
I know that some students were offended by what he said.
He was directly challenging our faith in miracles.
Strangely enough, I wasn't offended.
I understand where he's coming from, but at the same time...I see no reason to be offended because we're there to learn.
And I'm sure that Psychology is going to really stretch our beliefs and cause us to question them in relation to our behaviors.
I'm prepared for that 😌
One thing I've noticed is that I've gotten to the point where certain things don't really shake me.
Especially when people talk about certain issues or when an incident takes place.
These days, if anything happens...I just sleep it off, and by next morning...I'm thinking of whether I will eat before going for lectures or not! Not concerning eh? 😂
It seems like I just start each new day with a clean slate, and fresh grace to go through the day.
For that, I can only give glory to my Lord Jesus, who blesses me more than I deserve.
I'm eternally grateful 🥲
Okay...before I transit to water works, let's see the highlights for today.
And we do the usual, a few takes on the topic and concluding thoughts to end the post.
The series will soon come to an end!
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Finding an Easier Way
"Once you figure out what it is you really want, ask yourself if there’s a
better way to get it than to go down the path you’re planning on going down.
Maybe you want to be rich so that you can travel all of the time.
But do you
really need to be rich to do that, or is there any easier way?
For example, I
wanted to be rich to buy an island, but then figured out how to do it without
going through the hassle of getting rich first."
Quote by Tynan
There’s nothing wrong or dishonorable in finding an easier way to
accomplish your goals.
If you can make it easier for yourself to make your
dreams come true — given that it’s legal and moral to do so — do it.
Anything
that reduces the amount of self-discipline and mental energy you need to reach
your goals is a good thing.
For example, if you want to travel all of the time but you currently don’t have a million or two in the bank, it doesn’t mean that now you need to dedicate
a decade of your life to making millions.
You could achieve this same goal by
doing such things as finding a location-independent job, getting a flexible job,
working on a cruise ship or as a flight attendant, starting an online business, or
working on short-term contracts in different countries.
If you want to become fit, you can take fitness classes at your local gym
and hate it every time you go there, or you can find a type of a physical activity
you actually and genuinely enjoy.
If you want to lose weight, you can go on a restrictive diet that makes you
feel miserable, or you can adopt lifestyle changes and embrace nutritional habits
that give you some leeway while still helping you get thinner.
Oh, and for the curious: Tynan managed to buy an island without getting
rich first by buying the island together with a few friends.
Wow! 😲
The easy way!
I actually understand this concept because I started practicing this back in Lagos and I'm currently practicing it.
How? My online job.
These days, it's not so easy to get a job that pays 20k.
You would probably have to work as a salesgirl or cleaner to be able to earn it.
Truth be told...
I was actually teaching as a full time secondary school teacher for that same amount!
And I will tell you...the stress is not comparable at all! 😒
So for now, I'm sticking to an easier way to earn 20k, especially with doing what I know how to do best.
C'est fini.
Any other thoughts?
Well, not really.
I'm just grateful for how today turned out.
I got favoured by someone who I used to work with since last year.
Then, I wasn't working for any pay.
Just offering my services and helping her out.
I stopped communicating with her, when I was preparing to resume school.
But she helped me out and I just thank God.
Well, that would be all for today's documentation.
Thanks for reading 🎀
It's kinda hard to believe that very soon, this year will be over.
And so will this blog...
See you in the next post 💜
