Hello September!

It's day 244 of documenting 2025.

"Happy New Month ☺️
May the grace of God never depart from you this September."
Kinda sounds like the message I sent to my friends this morning.

And truly, it's a good prayer.
If not for God's grace and mercy, where would I be today? I don't even know.
All I know is that it is of the Lord's mercies that we're not consumed or struck dead when we trespass against God, like the old times.
For His grace alone, I will forever be grateful 🥲

Did that sound preachy?
I can't tell, because I was speaking from my heart.
And more importantly, I'm a little excited about the future.
You know why?
One month from now, I'll be in a different place.

Another thing I want to point out is the fact that I'm more uncertain than ever 😕
So, I wrote this in my "thought note", after I reconnected with my friend yesterday.
It actually turned out better than I hoped....but then I wrote this:

Everything seems so uncertain now.
I'm no longer certain about any area of my life, my next move or if I even make the right decisions.
But I believe God knows best and He's certain, in the face of my uncertainty.
All I have to do is continue and and not stop.

That's what I wrote ✍🏼
And I kinda felt better.I believe God has been working on me through His word. Sometimes, I hear him speaking through my thoughts.

One time, when I was looking for some sort of closure, I heard him say,

"Think on my word, it is comfort enough".

It came as a thought, and I knew I could forget it, so I wrote it down.
And I've been doing that ever since.

Wow...what an update, right?
That's how life is for me right now, and I'm documenting....
So, it's pretty much in order 😄

Okay, let's see how it goes with today's highlights.
And then I'll share a poem from my soul-speak poetry collection.
By the way, can I share a secret?
(Shh 🤫 Don't tell, okay?)

Here it goes:
I've stopped reading the book, 365 Days With Self-discipline.... except when it's time to share Highlights.
Basically, I don't read the note for today, until it's time for me to share it here!

Well, the thing is, the book has been relagated to an add-on for this blog.
It accompanies my documentation.
And it's about self-discipline, so why not?
I can't actually stop sharing the Highlights until the last day of this month....because that would mean a broken streak.
That being said, let's see today's note 🙂

365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On the Fun in the Impossible

"It’s kind of fun to do the impossible."
Quote by Walt Disney

Continuing the topic of aiming high, there’s another benefit of doing the impossible: it’s more fun than being realistic, and since it’s so much fun, the excitement it generates supercharges your motivation to make it a reality.

As we’ve already discussed, this obviously isn’t about setting completely impossible goals. Becoming a billionaire in five years is unlikely if you’re starting from zero, but becoming a millionaire; while also unlikely and impossible for most, isn’t actually impossible.

While it isn’t necessarily a good idea to set several impossible goals in your life, it’s worth it to have one goal that borders on the line between what’s possible and what’s impossible.

If you want to test (on a smaller scale) the concept of impossible goals fueling your resolve, set a small goal with a short deadline.

Write a full-length novel in two weeks.
Learn a foreign language in three months.
Make $5000 on the side in six weeks.

It’s a fun experiment, and if you treat it seriously, you might be surprised at what you can accomplish if you dream big.

There's actually nothing more to add to this....
I would just agree 👍🏼
But a full-length novel in two weeks? Hmm...🤔
It could be done...with sleepless nights and lots of caffeine, and it would be the messiest draft ever.
#Justsaying 🤷🏼

Alright, moving on.....
I'm going to share two of the poems from the book I wrote called Lanterns For The Lost.
Download the full copy here
And I'll answer the questions at the end of each.

The Discipline of Now

Hold fast to the fortress of your mind
your last defense
against illusion dressed as truth.
It is here that reverence is born,
and love for what is human still survives.

Forget the noise.
The long shadow of fame means little
when cast by those who do not know themselves.
You live in this breath, this single flicker of flame.
The rest is ash and air.

So name what stands before you.
Strip it bare.
What is it, really?
What does it ask of you?
Patience? Integrity? Courage?

Is it fate, or folly? providence, or pain?
A person, ignorant of their place in the weave?
Then treat them as kin; with justice, not judgment.

Some things will pass quickly,
others will leave a mark.
But you; you must respond with clarity,
the kind that honors the higher city
within which your soul is a citizen.

Let your thoughts be few,
but rooted in the eternal.
Let your gaze cut through illusion
until only truth remains
quiet, clean, unshaken.

Something to Think About
What mental clutter do I need to clear in order to see life, and others…for what they truly are?

For me, I would say (it's a work in progress...), the opinions of others.
Be it commentary, content or conversations.
And totally replacing it with God's word, so that I think of nothing else.
That's my answer 😌

Moving on to the next....and I've shared this one in a former post, named after it.

Instruments Of Light

Live like you’re returning the soul by nightfall.
Don’t wait for the grand task, the right season, or applause.
Let this moment; this breath…
be the evidence of a life well-spent.
Principled. Patient. Awake.

Keep your tools where they can reach you:
a steady spirit, a quiet philosophy,
a sky you speak to, even in the mundane.
For nothing grounded thrives without the stars,
and no stars shine through a fog of neglect.

Put down the scrolls.
Forget the pages you swore you’d revisit.
They were never meant to replace the living,
the doing, the being.
This is the final lap. Sprint with dignity.

Let hope step aside.
Let the hands you’ve waited for be your own.
Salvation is a choice in motion
not an angel,
but the act of standing firm within the storm.

Something to think about
What “tools” of character do you reach for most often….and which ones have grown dull from neglect?

Hmm 🤔
Let me think about this....
The ones I reach for most often would be empathy and reflection.
Tho ones that have grown dull from neglect would be team spirit and total focus.
As I said earlier, it's a work in progress.

There are probably more for both sides, but I just thought of these ones now...
And honestly, I thought hard before arriving at these conclusions.
I believe God is working to change my character, to make me more like Christ...as long as I abide 😌

Well, my friend...
That's all for today's post.
Thanks for reading 🎀
And I wish you nothing but the best of all good things coming in this month.
God bless you.

I'm Duon Ada.
I'm documenting 2025,
And I'll see you tomorrow.
Ciao 💕
