Bible Verses As Songs

It's day 241 of documenting 2025.

It's a Friyay! 😄
And a sunny one at that...
Something to be thankful for.

It's the usual out here.
Me still waiting for that admission...and it's business as usual.
By business, I mean something that gets me out of the house...which is a home-tutoring gig.
At least, I have something to do.

I could set up something online, but I want to hands-off anything like that for now.
My X account is doing pretty well tho...but it's just like an extension of my documentation, not necessarily to "make money online".
I just want to get into school first, and experience what it's like, as well as study my beloved subject.
PS. It's Psychology.

Well, I chatted with some of my friends last night, after a few weeks of non-communication.
It's not that I don't care, it's just that I have a lot on my plate and the times we do check in, it's memorable 😌
We're all doing what we need to, in order to get to where we're going and finally get together then. That's just it.

Let's start with some Bible verses for today, and then we can check out our highlights.
As usual, I'm typing from memory and I'll also say what the verses mean to me.

"Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?"
(Exodus 15:11)

This verse is actually a worship song my family and I sing almost all the time when we're holding hands to pray.
Exactly these lines...but with a different tune.

Okay, let me just tell how we sing it.
It goes like slowly like this:

Who is like unto thee? 🎶
Oh Oh Lord
Who is like unto thee?
Oh Oh Lord
Among the gods 🎶
Who is like thee
Glorious in holiness
Fearful in praises
Doing wonders, Hallelujah 🙌🏼

And there's also another one we sing as well, which is a verse.

"There is none holy as the Lord, for there is none beside thee, neither is there any rock like our God".
(1 Samuel 2:2)

We also sing it like the first one...
We've always sang the song since I was a teenager, and I never knew the lyrics came from the Bible.
When I came across them one day, I was like wow 😲

Bible verses as songs is probably not anything new in the era of worship songs.
An artiste that I know that does this well is Don Moen.
Some of his songs have verses directly from the Bible.
Okay, let me try to remember....

Oh yes! There's two I can recall actually...
Like Eagles and Cast Thy Burdens
The former has verses from the book of Isaiah (can't remember where), and the latter, from the book of Psalms.
I think I'll search for and download those songs...it's been a while since I listened to them 🤔

Alright, one more verse...
"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him that called him to be a soldier"
(2 Timothy 2:3-4)

This is actually the memory verse for today. And it's pretty direct.
I'm a soldier in training...and this tells me to endure the hard stuff.
Even emotions.
I also understand that in this life, the enemy we're fighting will always try to make us confused with certain events that happen.

So, I'm saying this:
The more you detach yourself from the external things, the more you become tuned into what matters.
Who you are on the inside 💠

That would be all for now...
Let's get into Highlights for today
And I may or may not share the whole note for the day.

📌 On Enabling the Future

"Your task is not to foresee the future, but to enable it."
Quote by Antoine de Saint Exupéry

Let’s perform a quick exercise…
Imagine your ideal future.
To make it easier, for now focus on only one part of your life, say, your financial situation.

You probably desire to have more money in the future. You want to be able to afford what you want and never have to worry about money again.

Now let’s focus on the present. Think about your choices today, yesterday, and the entire past week. Are they enabling the future you desire or disabling it?

Think of it as traveling on a toll road that will eventually take you to your desired future. At each toll booth, you need to pay to continue your journey.

If you make the right choice, one that favors your ideal future, the toll barrier will open. If not, you’ll be stuck there, standing in front of the barrier until you can scrape something together — in this case, making the choices that enable the desired future.

Whenever you find yourself torn between instant and delayed gratification, think of sitting in a car in front of the toll booth.

Do you want the barrier to open,
so that you can continue your journey toward your goal, or are you fine with waiting and wasting your time?

I definitely want the barrier to open, so I can continue my journey toward my goal.
This is actually an excellent way to think about it.
I'm not actually using this line of thought tho...but it's pretty good.

I hope you find this exercise useful.
Perhaps you can write it down somewhere you can see it, so it will be a constant reminder.
A reminder to do what is necessary to achieve your goal.

Thanks for reading 🎀
