A Very Close Shave

It's day 169 of documenting 2025.
Yesterday was tough.
Real tough.
I almost broke my writing streak.
But I had to learn a very important lesson.
Not so much into detail....but my phone was taken away from me.
For the whole day.
I couldn't come online...and I definitely have work piling up fore to finish up.
Yep! I went to school...came back and wasn't given the phone until after a difficult conversation.
Lesson learned:
Character will always take you places and lack of it will downplay any blessings you might get....
Make them less valuable.
It wasn't so bad tho....
I was able to do some crochet and teach 2 enthusiastic students a particular crochet technique.
Besides, a fellow teacher was ready to acquire the beanie we were creating...when it was done.
In addition, I was able to engage in conversation to a few more students about choice of school, university, courses...and all that.
One thing I got out of it all is that parents should be more supportive of what their children want...so they don't end up with miserable lives in the future.
I have a very loving dad ☺️
And sometimes when I don't see his point of view...what he's trying to say actually helps.
It actually teaches me something I need to know.
He doesn't force his will on me either...especially for the course I want to study.
His influence in my life is on a greater level than any other person.
That makes sense, because he's my dad and the person I'm mostly close to.
(Well duh....🙄)
Anyhoo....
Let's get into Highlights for today, as well as Meditations.
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Stopping at the Right Moment to Help You Tomorrow
"The best way is always to stop when you are going good and when you know what will happen next. If you do that every day when you are writing a novel you will never be stuck. That is the most valuable thing I can tell you so try to remember it."
Quote by Ernest Hemingway
Hemingway? 😳
That guy's a legend.
I've read some of his short stories...which influenced me to try to write mine.
(Story for another day...)
And he's got an app named after him. Respect!
"Each day when you’re finishing your work, leave an easy, unimportant task half-finished so that you can immediately begin to work on it the next day with little to no resistance."
"If you’re reading a book about an important skill you want to learn, stop in the middle of an easy chapter, not a difficult one.
If you want to improve your nutritional habits but your busyness often leads you to eat less than healthy breakfasts, prepare a small, healthy breakfast the evening before."
"Make it easy for you to resume your activity the next day, and you’ll rarely, if ever, struggle to get started."
Kinda like being a butler to yourself.
Prepping what you're to do tomorrow...so you don't waste time thinking about it.
That's what I think, by the way...
I do hope you'll agree with me on this one.
Moving on......
Meditations
📌 How To Act
5. Never under compulsion, out of selfishness, without forethought, with misgivings.
Don’t gussy up your thoughts.
No surplus words or unnecessary actions.
Let the spirit in you represent a man, an adult, a citizen, a Roman, a ruler. Taking up his post like a soldier and patiently awaiting his recall from life.
Needing no oath or witness.
Cheerfulness. Without requiring other people’s help. Or serenity supplied by others. To stand up straight—not straightened.
Not so long this time....I know.
I guess the message here is pretty clear.
Act like a human being.
That's all for the sections.
What's left for me today?
Tons of work to do...and many apologies to make.
But I think it will work out well, like it always has.
I believe so 💜
This is where I end today's post.
Thank you for reading!
The streak is still alive...and hot 🔥
Twas a really close shave, I tell you.
The ridiculous thing is that I was ready to leave it all behind if I didn't get my phone back.
Yeah...pretty eccentric 😄
By the way, if you want to catch up on former posts, you can do that on the main site, Documenting 2025.
Also, I would love to hear your suggestions on this blog.
Kindly let me know on the reader survey.
I'll see you there 😉
I'm Duon Ada.
I'm documenting 2025,
And I'll see you tomorrow.
Ciao 💕
