Have You Met "The New Channel"?
It's day 78 of documenting 2025.
I want to start with a metaphor.
Well, it may not be a metaphor...just something indirect.
Basically, I just want to say it.
It kinda feels different around certain people, doesn't it?
Something just makes you want to stay....to keep being with them.
And when they're far away from you, a certain awareness of their existence makes you think about them and the moments you shared.
Even moments from a distant past.
You compare them to the others? A zillion times ♾️
But the others don't stand a chance.
You like the others but you love them.
And sometimes they may not be aware of how much they mean to you....and you choose not to tell.
The thoughts of what they think about you make you stay away from the danger zones.
And move towards achieving things that will make them proud of you.
You're no longer doing those things for you, you're doing it for them.
Truth is, they're far away.
And the others are close by.
But you choose not to get too close...
Because your heart already belongs to them ♥️
You have no idea if they feel the same way, but it's okay.
Even if they don't, you'll be fine.
It was something truly special and even when things didn't work out the way you hoped, it was a pleasure to be in love.
Dear, you're a hopeless romantic.
It's not a bad thing.
It only shows how much of a light you are.
It shows how committed you can be to them or the others.
How bold you can be...
How what you feel can make you grow positively...
And do amazing things you never thought possible.
You're perfectly imperfect and that's what makes you....YOU ☺️
Okay, I'm done with what I want to say...
Man! It was good to get that out...
If you understand it, good.
And if you don't, maybe you should read it again....and see if you understand.
It's okay to not understand everything immediately.
You probably now see why I call myself "the eccentric writer" 😅
Sometimes, I don't sleep because of an persistent idea...
Until I write it down or get it out somehow.
Sometimes I type or write on paper and other times, I say it out and record myself talking.
Oh! How my thoughts trouble me!
(Shakespearean style 👆🏼...)
Now I can start the real post for today.....
Yess! I want to announce 📣
I started a Whatsapp channel!
So, I told you in yesterday's post about how someone asked me to teach him content writing.
If you missed it, read it here.
I decided to start a channel, so I could reach a lot of people at once.
The idea is to build an audience and teach what I know on a larger scale.
I thought about it 🤔
Then realized that more people prefer Whatsapp to any social media out there.
Why not? It's amazing!
So I started it yesterday....I called it, "Mystique Content Writers".
Why I chose the name?
Because I'm a fan of the mysterious, the unusual, the quirky.
The common crowd is not really my kind of place.
And it's specific...anyone interested in content writing is welcome 🤗
Plus, I like its abbreviation.
MCW....kinda cool when you pronounce it, right?
If content writing is your thing or an interest of yours, you can see the channel here.
I haven't shared the first update yet.
Didn't know what to start with 😐
But I'll share the first update today....and one update per day after that.
Lemme just get the ball rolling....and see how it goes.
It's time for highlights 📚
I'm just gonna share quotes from two books, as usual....
First is, 365 Days With Self-discipline by Martin Meadows
And the second, SMART Goals Made Simple by S.J Scott.
You can look 'em up online if you want the whole enchilada.
365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 Day 78: On Collaboration
"Life is not a solo act.
It’s a huge collaboration, and we all need to assemble around us the people who care about us and support us in times of strife."
Quote by Tim Gunn
"Even though there’s “self” in the word “self-discipline,” it doesn’t mean that you need to refuse the help of other people or that you need to reinvent the wheel because you can’t make your decisions based on the knowledge acquired by other people."
"Learning from the experience of others, regardless if it’s in the form of a book or a conversation, makes things easier, too."
"Another way to collaborate is to find a person who will hold you accountable: a friend who’s on the same journey as you or perhaps an online support group."
"The key to benefiting from this strategy is choosing the right accountability partner."
"Ideally, this person should be great at what you want to accomplish, and if not great, at least slightly better than you."
Hey Duon!
Anything else you wanna add?
"Nope...the highlights speak for themselves"
Alright, Duon 👍🏼
SMART Goals Made Simple
📌 Step 3: Write Down Yearly Goals
"Everyone has their personal preference when it comes to long-term goals.
Some think big by focusing on a five-year plan; others like to take them one year at a time, and a few prefer the immediacy of focusing on the next three months"
I prefer a yearly plan when it comes to long term goals.
But I would definitely break it down into quarters.
What about you, my friend?
How do you set your long term goals?
Think about that for a moment.
No no!....no need to tell me.
It all depends on you 😌
"I often compare goals to a business plan.
They’re a projection of what you’d like to achieve in the next 12 months.
You have a general “idea” of what you want to do, but you’re also flexible enough to change plans along the way."
Yep....like this blog.
The idea is to document for 365 days but I'm flexible about when I prepare the posts.
I'm currently trying out the schedule feature of the app I'm using.
So, I prep and schedule the post before I go to bed.
So far, it has been good.
I feel much better when I wake up and I don't have to battle with dizziness when I'm typing...
That simply means, I wrote today's post yesterday.
"Creating a S.M.A.R.T. yearly goal is simple enough.
Starting now, look at the end of the calendar for this year and think about what you’d like to achieve."
I deal with calendars....
Do you?
"Remember to treat each goal like a business plan instead of a mandatory milestone you need to reach.
In a way, these goals act like a bridge between a life list and the short-term goals you should be working on daily."
Think long term.
It pays to think what you can achieve over a long period of time.
Writing it down already increases your chances of success....
But you have to put in the work.
The hustle, the grind 💪🏼
Should always be on your mind.
(Smooth rhyming there....)
Thanks for reading, my friend 😊
I hope your day goes well or is going well already.
Thanks for showing up, as well as for clicking the link that sent you here.
I'm always encouraged to write more and come up with ideas for each day.
I wouldn't call them ideas....more like experiences.
I'm Duon Ada and I like to call myself the "eccentric writer".
I'm documenting 2025.
And I'll see you tomorrow
Peace ✌🏼
