Weekend Musings
It's day 25 of documenting 2025.
January 2025 is slowly coming to an end.
So far, I've accomplished things worth noting.
I'm going to write them down and look towards February.
My birthday month ☺️
It's another day to be alive and well.
I hope you're counting your blessings, wherever you are ✨
Being grateful opens ways for more blessings.
(A strong belief I hold)
A confession:
I didn't read again last night.
But it's not a mistake.
It's a decision.
I decided to improvise today.
Although, as usual, I read the book 365 Days With Self-discipline.
Written by Martin Meadows.
Today's note talked about doing what you can today.
Let me quote from there:
"There’s no excuse to not take any of those simple actions now and finally break the chain of procrastination.
Don’t overthink it and don’t obsess over the future; take care of establishing a tiny habit today, and take it from there."
That's right.
Simple actions.
A simple action I take every night is to write down my to-do list for the next day.
It helps me feel organized, even if I don't read through it for the rest of the day.
That's me tho.....
It could be different for you.
Yesterday, I created a batch of content for the brands I'm writing for...but they're not polished yet.
And I decided to call it a night by 2am this morning after brainstorming ideas for my content for the new week.
Didn't use ChatGPT tho...
Twas just me and the music playing.
Although, I can refine the ideas later with ChatGPT.
But the raw gold (original ideas) has to come from me.
And I could have read Tony's book then.
But no, I didn't.
I decided plopping into bed would bring more pleasure than staying up a few more minutes to get down notes for today's post.
(If you've read the last 5 blogs, I'm sure you get what I mean 😉)
I don't believe I'm incompetent.
On the contrary, I notice a pattern.
A pattern of taking and sharing notes the first day, and improvising the next day.
Then repeat.
I won't say I'm adopting this pattern.
But we'll see how it goes this coming week.
I've still got chores to do.
Content to prep.
Goals to crush 💪
And I'm still finding a unique way to help people.
A way that can pay me without me feeling guilty about it.
Like affiliate marketing did.
There's an internet marketer I respect a lot and look up to.
Russell Brunson.
He said something in one of his videos.
Something I just recalled now.
He said,
"You're not selling a product, you're selling a result."
And I totally agree with that.
I usually take note of the Whatsapp status updates of my friends that are into affiliate marketing.
They mostly share screenshots of people hitting it big, making millions.
Then a short write up that should make them take action.
Copy in action.
But something doesn't sit right with me.
They may sometimes post payout screenshots and blur out the name of the receiver.
It's not their payout.
Not their results.
And I get it.
It's allowed to post the results of others, especially if the product they use is same with the one they're promoting.
But posing the results as their own is something I shake my head at.
The results they display are not always what it seems.
Behind that huge payout was a huge sacrifice.
And what drives people these days is the notion of making money.
Which is not bad.
What may be bad is the desire to make the money fast and not willing to pay the price for speed.
(Sigh) 😌
That's life.
The good and the bad.
The ugly and the sad.
All I know is, I'm on my journey.
And I'm not in a hurry to make it big....
Yeah! I said it.
I'm taking it steady and picking up timeless wisdom that will profit me later.
I'm also showing up everyday and sharing content.
With consistency, success can happen overnight.
It's the compounding effect.
I guess I did good with improvising, right? 😀
I'm going to get notes down to share tomorrow.
Notes and my thoughts on the book, Awaken The Giant Within by Anthony Robbins.
I actually don't like skipping two days of an activity.
A day? Okay.
But two? Not okay.
Thanks for reading, my friend 😊
If this is the first time you're reading this, welcome.
I'm on a 365 day writing challenge.
That's why this blog exists.
Who am I?
I'm Duon Ada.
PS: I have an Instagram page where I host my creative writing works.
Poems mainly.
I started it recently.
