Last Sunday In January!
It's day 26 of documenting 2025.
A Sunday morning.
I still feel groggy to be honest.
Cause, I slept by 2am.....and I'm typing this by 7am.
Not much sleep, I know.
But I usually make up for it through afternoon naps 😴
Anyways, it's officially the last week of January.
And I was thinking of an upcoming date.
Will have to confirm if it's happening tho....
Nope! Not really 😆
But I'm sure there will be a lot of 'dates' next month (for other couples).
As well as my birthday....
So, I took down some notes last night from Chapter 5.
What book?
The book by Anthony Robbins, Awaken The Giant Within.
I was half asleep and half awake then, so I just read a little part and took a mid-length note.
It counts, right?
Well, the whole chapter talks about beliefs and their impact on our actions based on pain and pleasure.
And Tony stated:
"If you want to create long-term and consistent change in your behaviors, you must change the beliefs that are holding you back".
Lemme say something on this.
There's a friend I know who doesn't believe he can be social.
He say he's shy and that he prefers to be alone.
I get that.
I'm an introvert as well.
But I learned to socialize from the online space.
Truth be told, I still don't know how much of 'socializing' I would do if it were in person.
But I believe I can try.
What I would say about my friend is that he just needs to believe in himself.
I've been encouraging him and I think he's going to come out of his shell.
Soon enough.
Back to my notes ✍️
Tony also added this wonderful statement:
"Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy.
Human beings have the awesome ability to take any experience of their lives and create a meaning that disempowers them or one that can literally change their lives"
My translation (using an example):
Let's say a good guy was imprisoned unjustly and tortured.
Then he got released.
He can make two meanings out of his experience.
1. He believes he needs to be avenged and decides to go after those that caused his imprisonment. His fury turns him into a criminal.
2. He believes that his experience made him stronger and decides to make sure that no one gets unjustly imprisoned ever again. His resolve turns him into a lawyer.
Do you see what I mean?
Same experience but different beliefs.
I hope my example helped you understand Tony's statement.
Another interesting statement I just had to take down:
"Beliefs have the capacity to override the impact of drugs on the body".
What? 😲
Well, it's true.
Experiments were carried out to arrive at this statement.
Tony referenced an experiment where two groups of people were asked to take a drug.
Group A were given pill B 💊
But they were told it was pill A.
Group B were given pill A 💊
But they were told it was pill B.
(Hope it's not confusing)
The results?
Group A believed they took pill A and the effects of pill B didn't show.
Group B believed they took pill B and the effects of pill A didn't show.
Meaning, they believed in the 'pill' they were told they took.
Tony also referenced a quote by Dr Henry Beecher from Harvard University, who conducted such experiments.
"A drug's usefulness is a direct result of not only the chemical properties of the drug, but also the patient's belief in the usefulness and effectiveness of the drug".
So you see...
Your belief plays a very important role in your life.
Don't believe you can't do something without trying it first.
That's all for today's notes.
I gotta run....
I haven't scheduled my content for week.
But I can handle it.
Trust me.
Thanks for reading, my friend 😊
I'm not actually into word count with my blogs, but this one may be shorter.
But you're here anyways.
And I appreciate that 🙏

It's something I just started.
