Is There A Good Addiction?

It's day 13 of documenting 2025.

And it's a brand new day in a brand new week.
Time to get on with the hustle 💪
Right, Ami?

Speaking of hustle, I managed to schedule all relevant posts last night.
Then I put out new copy for the blueprint.
Let's see how it goes.

One thing that's usually said in copywriting is that,
"It either works or it doesn't".
There's no in between.
I will just have to tweak and rewrite if it doesn't work.
It's a practice....all part of the game.

I asked a friend of mine who's a gamer, "how do you master a game?"
You know what he told me?
These exact words:
"Don't stop
Spend all night playing and then tomorrow continue
Become addicted to the game"
Now I'm thinking 🤔
Is there a good addiction?

When most people hear the word "addiction", it rings a bell of negativity.
But if I'm correct, addiction is not so different from obsession.
It's probably the context that differentiates them.

That's all about my thoughts.
Let's get into today's notes....
(I was able to read the book last night...thank God)
I'm reading the book, Awaken The Giant Within by Anthony Robbins.
And I'm on the fourth chapter or so....titled "The Force That Shapes Your Life".
It mainly talks about pain and pleasure in relation to making decisions.

It's divided into sections with quotes or headings.
The quote that started the section I read goes like this:
"A man who suffers before it is necessary, suffers more than is necessary" by SENECA.
(Don't know who that is .....maybe you could tell me in the comments)

This particular section is not so long so I paraphrased.
Here's what I wrote ✍️
Most people know the actions that would benefit them and bring pleasure to their lives.
But they fail to act simply because in that moment, they associate more pain to doing what's necessary than missing the opportunity.

I'm guilty of this, I have to admit 😕
But the more I read this book and take notes, the more I understand and make better decisions.

I'm going to quote from the book now. It's a long one but I'll break it up with my own thoughts.
Here it goes:
"For most people, the fear of loss is much greater than the desire for gain.
Which would drive you more: keeping someone from stealing the $100,000 you've earned over the last five years or the potential of earning $100,000 in the next five?"

If I didn't know better, I would pick the first option. And I think that's the mentality of people who think that paying for knowledge is a scam.
(Yeah....I've met them!)

"The fact is that most people would work much harder to hang on to what they have than they would to take the risks necessary to get what they really want from their lives".
Sad but true.

Well, I know better and I hope you do too.
Taking risks is part of success, as well as mastery in any field.
Sometimes, it's best to let go and face uncertainty.

What are your thoughts on this?
How are you planning to crush your goals this week?
Let me know in the comments or you could just say hi
PS: You can be anonymous 😉

No links today....
If you're wondering who I am, let's just say I'm a Nigerian girl in her twenties trying to explore life.
And I'm documenting 2025.
