Remembering My Mantra

It's day 139 of documenting 2025.

Happy Monday, my friend ☺️
A new week.
A new opportunity.
A new chance to right the wrongs.

And I'm fully operational.
Dad got me a new pair of black shoes...just what I need.
Coupled a new approach, I can do this...

During the staff meeting on Saturday, I realized what I'm actually up against.
A bunch of rowdy and unserious students.

I also found out that they had been corrupted by a certain teacher, who was sacked prior to my arrival.

Can I undo what he has done?
Can I inspire these kids to behave well and study hard for their own good?
Can I be a good leader?

Questions I just came up with...

This is the ultimate test.
Make an impact on the students, not just teach them.
To pass this test, I have to work on me first.
Honestly, I'm still working on myself.

I haven't gotten to the level of 'super teacher' yet.
I'm still a student myself.
But I'll handle it.
I'll organize my life and deal with the difficulties I face.
Just for those kids.
So I can truly be someone they listen to and emulate.

Sounds like a lot of pressure on me, doesn't it?
Well, I think of it as my main "why" for taking my personal development seriously from now on.
I can make the necessary sacrifices to become a better version of myself.

Well, enough about me...
Let's get into the real reason why you decided to visit...😏
The next two sections of today's post are as follows:

365 Days With Self-discipline
📌 On Tolerating An Absence Of Novelty

You know what?
I'll just share the whole note.
You won't really get it if I just pick out one or two quotes.
Yeah...there are days like that.
Here we go.

"The ability to thrive in low-stimuli environments, such as when working without distractions, is one of the most powerful demonstrations of self-control.

Sadly, most people don’t possess it, because they have developed a habit of constantly interrupting their focus with low-value, highly-stimulating activities, such as browsing social media or shopping online.

If you’re unable to tolerate an absence of novelty, you’ll be unable to focus on anything for long enough to see it through to the end. Therefore, it’s key to develop the willpower to resist the temptation to entertain yourself when things get boring or too challenging for your mind.

I suggest a simple practice: follow the Pomodoro technique of time management in which you work for 25 minutes and then give yourself 5 minutes to distract yourself with whatever you want.
Once the 5 minutes are up, you have to get back to work, and after 25 minutes more of work, you can yet again let yourself enjoy high-stimuli, low-value activities for 5 minutes.

The Pomodoro technique works so well because it doesn’t force people to exert incredible amounts of willpower.
It’s only 25 minutes of work, so even if you’re usually interrupting work every 10 minutes, you’ll only need to wait for 15 minutes more before you can indulge.

After following this technique for several weeks or months, you should notice an improvement in the quality of your work.
Soon, 25 minutes of highly-focused work will no longer be a challenge for you, and you’ll greatly strengthen your self-control."

No comments, my friend 🥲
I'm reminding myself of all these as well.
What I learned newly is the concept of low-value, highly stimulating activities.
So, the opposite of this should be high-value, less stimulating activities....coupled with the Pomodoro technique.
Will apply the knowledge this week.

Moving on....
The recently introduced section.

Blast From The Past
📌 How Long Does Mastery Take?

This post was a bit longer.
I think I had taken note of the fact that I didn't scroll much in the previous posts.
I mainly shared notes...and talked about mastering content creation.

Before I wrote the post, I had started with video content...showing my face on camera.
Audio content as well.
Written content is kinda 'ma jam' 😄
Personally, I prefer audio content.

There's also a quote I shared which I called my mantra then.
I saw it and I just had to remind myself of it again.
It's a direct quote from Tony Robbins himself, which can be found in his book, "Awaken The Giant Within".

"I know I certainly haven't made all the right decisions along the way. Far from it. But I didn't expect to.
Nor will I always make the right decisions in the future.
I have determined that no matter what decisions I make, I'll be flexible, look at the consequences, learn from them and use these lessons to make better decisions in the future."

This literally speaks for me.
So profound 😌

Main sections done ✅
Anything else I would like to add?
Yeah...one more thing.
I didn't work do my weekend activities as planned.
I didn't crochet to practice my focus.
Neither did I listen to music for relaxation.

Why?
I guess I was quite tense.
This weekend went so fast!
Did you notice? 🤔
I definitely did.
Anyhoo....I'll try to make the best of this week.
And I hope you will too.

This is where I draw the curtains, my friend.
Thanks for reading
