He Inspired Me To Quit
It's day 15 of documenting 2025.
Tell me something, Ami
When is it right to quit? 🤔
Think about that for a second.
Anyways, yesterday was quite eventful....
I chatted with a friend the other day and I really felt better afterwards.
I was struggling with how I felt about my passions versus the need to make money.
But as we chatted, I realized that I didn't want to do something that I can't be best at.
I'm taking a massive leap of faith to chase my passions.
Passions I said I wanted to give up in a previous post...
(Don't know which one tho...will check)
I just want to help people in a way that I'm passionate about.
Not for profit only.
I'm going to quote from a book by Martin Meadows.
It's called Grit.
The same author wrote 365 Days With Self-discipline.
(So, it's gonna be good....)
It's actually two points from the recap of the first chapter of the book.
✍️ If you’re not willing to do your best but expect extraordinary results, give up now.
It’s a waste of time to be mediocre while you could work on something you’re great at.
✍️ If you no longer have the passion for your goal, give up.
Don’t mistake short-term
discouragement with lack of enthusiasm, though.
If you’ve been working on your goals for several weeks with little to no enjoyment, it’s probably no longer the right goal for you.
These are straight from the book, not my words.
And I believe that God directs us to the paths that would be most beneficial for us.
It's still the beginning of the year and the decision I'm making is going to determine how this year will turn out.
This blog will continue till the end of this year....so we're going to find out how it will turn out.
Wow! That was a long one 😄
Let's get into today's notes now.
Notes on the book I'm reading slowly.
Taking notes and understanding concepts.
Kinda like relishing a cake 🍰
Piece by piece.
I'm reading Awaken The Giant Within by Anthony Robbins.
I'm still on the fourth chapter.
The section I read didn't start with a
quote, just a heading that read,
LIFE'S MOST IMPORTANT LESSON.
"The most important lesson we learn in life is what creates pain for us and what creates pleasure.
The lesson is different for each of us and so are our behaviors".
I think what Tony means is, what may create pain for one person may create pleasure for another person.
He went on to give an example using two famous people.
Donald Trump and Mother Theresa.
Think about that.
The second section had a heading that read,
WHAT YOU LINK PAIN TO AND WHAT YOU LINK PLEASURE TO SHAPES YOUR DESTINY.
A real food for thought 💭
"Pain and pleasure linkages produce a processional effect in our lives
If we link massive pain to any behavior or emotional pattern, we will avoid indulging in it at all costs".
I thought hard about this one and realized that I have unconsciously linked pain to the headaches of marketing and searching for leads.
Whereas, I have linked pleasure to creating and writing.
I don't see myself doing marketing full-time in the future.
I see myself writing books and sharing stories....and it's something I can do even if the profit doesn't come along.
I was even doing it on paper before I got my smartphone.
Those were the good ol' days.
The knowledge I've gained so far will pay me on this new path.
My marketing knowledge is not a waste, it's power.
Power that can enable me succeed in this new venture.
The friend I confided in yesterday revealed that he was into marketing two years ago before he discovered his gift for designing.
Now, he's a top-notch graphic designer who's getting paid for doing what he loves to do, even without pay.
He has inspired me to take this new path. Shout-out to him ♥️
And it's going to be difficult for me at first. You know why?
I find it hard to let go of something, even if the universe signals that it's not good for me.
I do be attached like that 😅
But it's something I must do....I believe it.
Thank you for reading to the end, my friend 😊
I may be right, I may be wrong
But I'm just documenting 2025.
