Can You Write Your Demons?
It's day 9 of documenting 2025
And I stayed up until 1:39 am this morning.
Doing what?
Writing on paper.
Before then, I blasted music on my earphones as I wrote down the to-do list for today.
"The Greatest" by Sia just seemed so relevant at that moment.
Also before then.....
I read the last section of a book I'm currently reading.
Took down notes....which I will share with you in a moment.
Let me just say a thing or two about what writing means to me.
Before I got my first smartphone, I was already writing on paper.
I still have the notes from 2022.
(Call me sentimental 😄)
And so far, I can say that writing on paper has saved me from repeating certain mistakes.
Yesterday, I thought about the things I was engaged in before digital marketing.
Three things in particular:
French Language, Poetry, Crochet
They have become my passions.
But I can't pursue them now...I can just do them occasionally.
(PS: Wrote all this down, now I'm just paraphrasing)
It's a sacrifice I have to make.
All of this marketing stuff....I'm starting to like it.
But it doesn't make me happy all the time, and it doesn't have to.
I'm the one trying to master it.
My passions always make me happy but I have to let go of them for a while....not pursue them fully.
I know the sacrifice will be worth it...because when God crowns my efforts with wealth, I can pursue my passions to the fullest.
(Is that last word correct?)
After getting down all that on paper last night, I changed the song to "Counting my blessings".
By Seph Schlueter.
You know that song?
Yes? No?
Either way, you should listen to it.
Don't worry, Ami....I got you 😉
I will leave the link to the song on Spotify at the end of this post.
Let's get to my notes....
And I finally read the last section of the second chapter 🙌
I'm reading "Awaken The Giant Within" by Anthony Robbins.
And the quote that started the final section goes like this:
"We will either find a way or make one" by Hannibal.
(I don't know who the person is....do you?)
I quote:
"One of the most important decisions you can make to ensure your long-term happiness is to decide to use whatever life gives you in the moment."
This particular one is so true.
And I always remind myself to do what I can, with what I have, where I am.
Then I would ask myself:
Where am I?
What do I have?
What can I do with it?
After answering the questions, I get to work.
Tony stated that there's nothing you can't accomplish if:
1. You clearly decide what it is that you're absolutely committed to achieving.
2. You are willing to take massive action
3. You notice what's working or not
4. You continue to change your approach, until you achieve what you want, using what life gives you along the way.
Another set of notes I took down ✍️
"Success or failure are not overnight experiences; it's all the small decisions along the way that cause people to fail."
"Deciding to commit yourself to long-term results, rather that short-term fixes, is as important as any decision you'll make in your lifetime."
I'm going to end my notes with a belief and a final thought.
I hold this belief and found out that Tony held it too.
He has developed it to carry him through extremely tough times.
It's this:
"God's delays are not God's denials".
"Often what seems impossible in the short term becomes very possible in the long term if you persist.
In order to succeed, we must discipline ourselves to consistently think long term."
I'll be starting the next chapter tonight and I'll share my notes tomorrow.
Thanks for reading to the end, Ami.
('Ami' means friend in French...so I'm referring to you ♥️)
Oh, before I forget,
You can listen to "Counting my Blessings" on Spotify.
