Tuning Into Poetry?

It's day 19 of documenting 2025.

A little confession:
I don't feel like it....
I didn't feel like getting out of bed today,
I didn't even feel like typing this post.
But it's here anyways.

I'm on day 19 of 365 Days With Self-discipline by Martin Meadows.
Today's note was quite interesting.
It talked about the struggle being more important than the victory.
The process being more important than the prize.

I learned something from that and felt a bit guilty.
Guilty of not trying enough on active marketing that I left behind.
But this is my consolation:
I'm following my passion.
And I will come back to active marketing in the future.

So far, it's been great.
I feel like verses just flow out of me.
Here's one that just came up yesterday:
The chains fell
I rise
I face sunrise
No fear

(It sums up a lot)
Plus, I haven't done any mindless scrolling on Threads and Instagram.
Which feels great 😃
No gurus rubbing their earnings in my face, no constant wondering whether my posts gets engagement
or not.

I still got my content marketing going on.
I have a newsletter on Substack and a Facebook page.
You can check out my newsletter.
All content are usually scheduled, leaving me to focus on my writing.

And I'm going to share my notes for today.
Notes on the book I'm reading:
Awaken The Giant Within by Anthony Robbins.
Still on the fourth chapter that's focused on the power of pain and pleasure.

So, the section I read last night didn't start with a quote.
It started with:
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE, SOMEONE ELSE DOES
Yep! In bold letters.
It mainly talked about advertisers and how they link sensations of pleasure to their products.
Thus, influencing their decisions.

I quote (from the book):
"Advertisers clearly understand that what drives us is not so much our intellect as the sensations that we link to their products".

I paraphrased:  ✍️
Advertising is a form of conditioning that's not limited to physical or digital products only.
Television and radio are used as tools for changing what we associate to candidates in the political process.

Another interesting concept Tony gave goes like this:
"Anytime we're in an intense emotional state, when we're feeling strong sensations of pain or pleasure, anything unique that occurs consistently will be neurologically linked.
Therefore, in the future, whenever that unique thing happens again, the emotional state will return."

This made reference to the Pavlovian experiment.
In summary, a dog was conditioned to salivate anytime a bell was rung, even when food wasn't present.

               ✍️✍️✍️✍️✍️
The force that shapes all of our actions is the same force that shaping world opinion and consumer buying habits.

The first step in creating a change is to become aware of the power that pain and pleasure exert over every decision and every action we take. The art of being aware is understanding that these linkages are happening constantly.

I can say this boldly.
I'm becoming aware, in that I'm starting to weigh my actions on the scale of pain and pleasure.
Short term pleasure and long term pain or,
Short term pain and long term pleasure.
It's all a matter of choice.

Thanks for reading till the end, my friend.
It's a new week and I'm tuning into poetry.
Let's see how it goes.
